Ωhmboy
So, how do you shift using the sequential gearbox? I find the trucks accelerate and decelerate far too quickly for me to keep up even when skipping two to three gears. EDIT: Also what RPM do you upshift at? The game does not list the complete power band for the engine.
MashedPotaton8r
I always shift at 1300 RPM, unless I'm shifting from 3rd to 5th. I shift at 1500 RPM only then. I use the 13 speed for all my trucks
Nitecreeper
I use the 13 speed transmission and I normally start in like 3rd gear. Then I generally skip 2 gears till like 8th or 9th gear and go up in singles after that. Unless of course I am climbing a hill.
legocube
on manual, shifting around 2000 rpm.
peacemak3r
I use a 6-gear with sequential and usually shift at 2100, works fine for me.
jukeboxknox
I use the 18 speed and usually start out in 4th or 5th with no load and 3rd with a load. I usually shift up 2 gears everytime i shift until it starts taking a while for the rpm get up the 2000. I am here to help, I hope I helped in some sort of way. kburd1348
My Kenworth w900 has a 6 speed transmission. Top speeds of each gear: 1st. 18 2nd. 40 3rd. 57 4th 75+ 5th 90+ 6th 95+. The way I shift is by using the scroll wheel; it's easier to skip gears if I'm using 18 speed.
TheMcSame
Yeah, starting off in a higher gear or using a transmission with less gears is pretty much the way to go about it. As for the RPMs, the highest you'd want to go is about 2000RPM
Le_T3k
0-60 on flatground while loaded : 3/7/9/11/13/15/17/18 (around 1200) 0-60 going uphill while loaded 1/3/5/7/11/13/15/17/18 (around 1400) 0-60 flatground empty : 6/10/12/14/16/18 (between 1100-1200) 0/60 going uphill empty 4/8/10/12/14/16/18 (between 1200-1350) Thats is a lot of shifting (binded to A(+) and Z(-) on a qwerty keyboard I conceide, Shifting all the times, i dont even think about it Just keep in mind max torque is near 1100-1200, so even going uphill at this rpm, as long is it doesn't plunge down, feels more effective than 1500 (or is it just me?). I use 1600-1300 for engine compression and airbrake.
Kielly
Not sure about sequential but if you have a wheel I really suggest you invest in a cheap joystick and use FF shifter. I drive with a 13 speed and I usually start off in 3rd, 5th, *switch*, 7th, 9th, 11th, switch 13. I never use the other gears unless I'm climbing a steep hill. I have a habit of throwing it into R3 to when reversing PC Specs: Spoiler CPU: Intel Pentium G3258 Anniversary Edition Memory: 16GB DDR3 G SKILL 1600mhz Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti (2GB) Mobo: MSI H81M-P33 Case: Antec VSK3000E Power Supply: EVGA 500w 80+ HDD: (3x) 1TB Western Digital
ShirBlackspots
I have a tendency to shift around 1900-2000 RPM.
