Inthernet
As far as I understand, Speed Limiters (Governors) are not mandatory by law in the USA. Some roads in Nevada allow trucks to travel at 80mph legally. Therefore, I could not help noticing the test server for ATS had speed limiter enabled. What will be the development direction regarding this?
stilldre1976
got to admit am using the cruise controll/set limit alot more in ats than i did in ets,may be the beautiful backgrounds on ats but i dont feel like hurry along on here
Simeta
For MP purposes I can see why there may be a speed limiter forced, some of those single lane roads are just going to cause an accident
DrJohnWatson
^I'd like to see you go 60mph on one of those small single lane roads and not crash
sgpch1983
NV says 80mph, CA says 55mph.. as a european i prefer CA law in that metter.. or maybe we could make a compromise.. 65mph limiter in mp? also there is arizona on the way which i didnt look at laws yet. DrJohnWatson
^^Max seems to be 75mph in Arizona. http://www.speed-limits.com/arizona.htm Edit: Nevada also seems to have 75mph max according to this website. So I'm not sure how it'll be in-game, since we do have the 80mph limit. freddiebox
The speed limiter in multiplayer is there for a reason. Without it people would be flying around everywhere, and it would favor the traffic trolls making their dangerous overtakings.
Joey
They will probably make a server with speedlimiter disabled and one where it's enabled. I like disabled speedlimiter though, because more players play on EU2 and it isn't that bad at all out there. Member since: 19 Aug 2014
Takumi Fujiwara 86
the speed limiter thats in the game is at 65 mph, unlike 55 mph in ETS2.
sgpch1983
well 65 isnt so bad.. i could life with it for america.. i think we shouldnt force european standards on a game about the usa the same is true for the other way around. - thats way i dont like eu2

SubVerse
When I was going down a hill with my Peterbilt in 10th it did not go past 91mph. Of course everything is still stock. Speed limiter should be 65-70. Maybe set it to change the max to 70 while in Nevada.

In California, any vehicle with 3 or more axles are limited to 55MPH, and are required to stay in the right lane (or right two lanes). On the Grapevine (Up and down a long hill), CA limits trucks to 35MPH, while everyone else goes 55-60.
caff!!! McDodge34 [FR QC]
Speed limiter is needed if we don't wan't a troll fest like sometimes on EU#2 where people organize races and such. You wanna race, grab NFS games.
BloatedHook302
There is a speed camera in ATS. I have AI off in SP and see I get speeding fines. Right now, I got speeding fine because speed camera (showing in screenshot below.) You can get speeding fine as well in ATSMP. Right now once ATSMP released, you may need keep eye out for speed camera and watch your speed if you low on money.

John [RO]
Limiter ON or OFF, doesn't really make that big of a difference if everybody will have inflated bank accounts with 1 billion $ on them. Speeding fines mean nothing in this case, so max speed all the way. Have some sort of server side economy, and all of a sudain, speed limits make sense. Traffic lights make sense. Cop cars make sense. Otherwise , it's #YOLO . Doing the Multiplayer Hardcore Challenge on the Europe #2 Server - Currently level
Glanshon
It's such a shame that the MP team need to enforce the Speed Limiter due to the trolls Maybe one day in the future we'll be able to play MP without the trolls and griefers! #HeresToHoping Read the Rules - Report a Driver - Appeal a Ban - Contact Support Facebook - Twitter - YouTube - Steam
John [RO]
They can leave the speedlimit off, as long as they leave the police cars ON , that way, if you speed , just a weee little bit - BAM - 1000$ thank you very much. But then there's the issue of inflated bank accounts... immortal766
Leaving the police cars on that constitute part of the traffic in my own opinion will be disastrous. It will not only increase the lag fest but it will also cause a lot of crashes and accidents

That was going downhill, otherwise, it seems to top out at 87MPH.
Glanshon
I think this is a positive thing. I don't think the truck should be able to go much over the speed limits. Only need for it is for overtaking purposes which you only really need an extra 10mph for. [ST] Hellser
^ You assume people are going to stick to the speed limit as indicated. They'll go as fast as the speed limiter will allow.
