[ ITVTC ] Djtaffy2003
Hi. I'm looking at purchasing a steering wheel within the next week. What wheels have people got and what would you recommend? Look forward to hearing from you all.

Miles Vorkosigan (Histori
Depends on your budget. The G25-G29s are great mid range setups. I used to have a Thrustmaster Clutch Pro that is even cheaper and had all the features of the Logitech wheels except the h-shifter. http://www.thrustmaster.com/en_US/products/rgt-force-feedback-pro-clutch-edition There are other good choices out there that are cheaper. If your budget can handle it, and you are serious about driving simulators, I would recommend the Fanatec Clubsport Wheel Base. Rather expensive bit of hardware as you get no wheel, pedals or shifter but those are addons. They they are fantastic (no pun intended) and feel like the real deal. http://www.fanatec.com/eu-en/ Thrustmaster has a couple of cheaper but still high quality setups as well. http://www.thrustmaster.com/en_US/products/categories/racing-wheels And then there are the really expensive wheels (but absolutely incredible) using high power servos. http://simxperience.com/en-us/products/accessories/accuforcesteering.aspx I have the Fanatec CSW base, BMW Wheel and Elite pedals. Course, I also have a motion platform and a very supportive wife
Sysgen
^^ I would love to see your setup, got some pictures of it ? Mine are under my profile. What motion platform did you use?
Miles Vorkosigan (Histori
I built the platform with help from the folks at XSimulator.net. Here is a link to a video of my platform in action. There is more information there. EDIT: Nice rig, I like your shifter. Mine is similar but in a vertical setup. I have an almost identical SimVibe setup. Jobawick
I have had a G25 and G29. I prefer the G29 hugely. Easier access to the buttons instead of reaching over to the shifter. Very sleek design with the black metal and feels really well made when in use, certainly the little flat edge at the bottom. Also if you buy it at Curries/PCWorld, I think they have a deal where it is a lot cheaper than other places, including the shifter which is unfortunately separate but I wouldn't buy one if I didn't get the shifter. If you do go with the G29 though, you will have to download the drivers on the Logitech G website. Just to let you know. But I have heard many good things about the G27 and that may be a cheaper option if the PCWorld/Curries offer is off.
