I got also this problem a few months ago. 

 

 I try 2 diffrent things,

      1) Reinstall

      or

      2) Other graphics settings or mode.

Lower texture settings and enable low detail truck models in MP settings, the lag is most likely from loading truck data into memory.

this sounds like it might be your graphics settings. I would lower them for now, and see if that makes a difference.

The cause of your freeze, is due for your Ram Memory or Graphic Memory, there are 2 ways to solve that.

 

1.- Put your graphics at Low, and turn down all shadows, lights, etc...

2.- When you have a Computer (no laptop) you always can buy another hardware to experiment and play with more Good graphics and no lag

3.- There are a lot of programs what can help you. That programs disable all your Software when you start a game (Boosters).

Hello people! I found the problem with the latest update. The reason you get the lag-spike when someone enters your 500meter zone,is because it has to load multiple new data across the whole game files. I asume you have the new Cabin Accessories DLC? So here is my tip that fixed the awfull freeze in the game.

Go to TAB menu
Right mouse click
Select Settings
Go to general
Make sure "Load cabin Accesories" is UNCHECKED.

What it is,that it won't load the cabbin accesories from other drivers,eg:You and your friend have the Cabin Accessories DLC. You both stop somewhere,and normaly you see your cabin accesories and his at the same time if you look at his cabin. If you disable this option,you won't see his,but you will see yours and it will work perfect!

Oh and Cazza Bank,dont trust any "FPS Boosting" programs such as Razer Cortex. It may boost it but all it does is just shuts down your processes,eg Google Chrome,uTorrent,etc. Which you can do your self.

It looks to me, that it happens only when other players get in your range - its not unusual for that to happen when a lot of people get in your range at once (0:30)

 

(btw what are your graphic settings and the MP ones?)
