Miles!
Does anyone here play with a console controller? If so how does it compare to a Keyboard? I've ordered the Steam Controller and its on the way so I plan to just lay in bed and play on my TV with the controller to drive. What are your thoughts? do you like it? Sgt_Tailor
Before I got my G27 I used a ps3 controller. I wasn't too bad it sure is a lot more accurate than a keyboard.
Simulator Experiencer
i think that you should play on a PC screen with a steering wheel best way but this is me i dk about you guys but im saving money for the future so i can make my own company irl

I'd hate to tell you this but ets2 would have to support the steam controller first before you could use it since its a different controller than a xbox 360 controller and right now i'm using a xbox 360 controller cause my wheel died on me
MashedPotaton8r
I currently use a PS3 controller. My Xbox 360 Controller died yesterday, sadly. It's a bit difficult to drive in a straight line with the PS3 controller as I usually wrap my index finger around the left joystick for precise movements. But it still is much more comfortable than a keyboard.
Miles!
Thanks guys! I'll give it a shot. I would buy a G27 but I literally have nowhere to store it, and my desk is curved so it might not fit on properly. I'd hate to tell you this but ets2 would have to support the steam controller first before you could use it since its a different controller than a xbox 360 controller and right now i'm using a xbox 360 controller cause my wheel died on me It's run through Steam OS and has partial controller support so it should work. Thanks for the heads up tho
MashedPotaton8r
^^ You can buy a stand for the G27 off Amazon. Something like this - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wheel-Stand-Pro-Logitech-Racing/dp/B004AYMCRG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1446092295&sr=8-1&keywords=g27+stand
Miles!
^^ That's a bit expensive for a stand tho hahah, I could probably make one. Still, The angle of the stand would probably mean I have to sit a bit further back which I can't cause of a fat bed Plus, there's nowhere to store it when I'm not using it, I have enough trouble storing my Logitech 3D pro and that's quite small. I'd have to sit on the bed lol
RadioactivePotato
I usually play with a PS4 controller, it's better than a keyboard, but a steering wheel wins it all Bruh
MrHarv98
I use keyboard and sometimes a ps3 controller, imo the turning in ps3 one is faster and accurate as compared to keyboard without changing the steering settings or anything like that. for convoys i use a ps3 controller and when riding alone i use a keyboard. That's how it works for me tho
Afrousel
I used to use my Xbox 360 controller because I thought it would be easier to corner but I prefer keyboard for high speed driving It's much easier to take corners and you can't do things such as open the chat or open the Tab menu with the controller. That's my opinion though.
Glenny_
I use a mouse to steer, I find it much smoother and easier than the keyboard. I use A and D to look left and right BTW.

DerAmpelmann
I'm using Xbox One controller because my G25 died. Controller sure wins the keyboard, but won't beat the wheel. Only problem with controller is lack of buttons for actions. Need to use keyboard too. Ready to go!

Aegwynn
I got a G25 after having it recommended to me here on the forum. I'd recommend it to you as well! It's a whole new experience. You can surely get a pre-owned one for a nice price
Miles!
I appreciate the replies but a proper wheel is out of the question, sorry. Not only the space but I have already ordered the Steam Controller for use with other games and my finances have just been hit pretty hard so I can't really splash out on a steering wheel purely for a game that makes me sleepy 10 minutes into a delivery lol. Maybe in the future but for now I'm content with a controller, just curious how well it handles.
DJ Lewis
To be honest, I would use mouse and keyboard. That is probably going to be the most accurate device after the steering wheel.
