Ridiculously slow download speeds

I'm currently downloading the MP patch so I can finish off my Xmas gifts at a speed of 100Kb/s which is just plain ridiculous. 25 minutes to download 175MB of data, I have 40MB/s download speed and could have downloaded 10 HD movies in this time.

In fact I'm uploading 4 times as fast as I downloading. Please fix this.

I was unlucky enough so the connection was broken and i had to redownload when i was at 113 MB ...

Wow after reading these comments I do feel a lot luckier lol.

On saying that though, I'm getting really mad latency spikes, 2,000ms at times, I've just been kicked for have a avg ping over 600ms. I'm in the UK and before this patch I was getting no more than 38ms ping to the server. WTF is going on.

I know it's not my connection, just played World of Warcraft, DayZ SA, Insurgincey, and BF4 with no issues at all.

Not only that my GF was still playing wow while I was on ETS-MP she had a ping of 28ms while I was spiking over 1,500 every couple of minutes.

I hope you guys know that the winter mod download is totaly optional and you don't have to use it?

Indeed it is but they could at least bump their bandwidth up a little and not have people spending 3 or 4 hours updating.

There are almost 10000 people registered, servers are overloaded it seems.

Best you can do is watch a movie now and wait until the mod is downloaded.

 

I wonder if you look both ways when you cross my mind..

Call me crazy but when people are here downloading the patch it usually means they want to play ETS2MP and not watch a movie.

Well i just started downloading/installing the new patch... I didn't expect this tho..

I guess i will have to wait.. lol

Well i just tried again with the download and it downloaded with full speed.. I guess you just need to give it some time.. Or just enough people already downloaded it and there is enough seeds..

Finally managed to get it downloaded late last night (Eastern Time). When I got home it was downloading at 19 kb/s. The farthest it went up was to 100 kb/s. Let's hope it downloaded completely when I try it today.

Yep, I also had a really slow download w/ the winter mod, but I was playing other games while it was downloading so no worries :P

 

My worries are the not ending restarts of the download :D I'm playing and playing and downloading the ets2mp version, but after half an hour it says: no, I want to restart because you don't give me any attention.
