How to share a preset colour in Euro Truck Simulator 2 Multiplayer (and single player)

 

            If you are playing with your team with the same colour, you may notice that your paint is not exactly the same. This tutorial will explain to you how to share your preset colour with your team. (Picture in French)

 

            First, if you use the last version of the game (1.15 or more), you need to make sure your saving files are in the good format.

 

            To do that, you need to access the "config.cfg" file in your Euro Truck simulator 2" folder in your "Document" folder.

 

 

Open the file, and set the line "uset g_save_format" to "2".

 

 

Save your changes, and start the game. Load your profile, and exit the game to update your save with the new format.

 

            Now you need to download the .sii decrypter at this address : http://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=164103

Unpack the folder where you want.

          

  Open your profile save folder (to recognize it, use the latest modification date in windows explorer).

            Copy the game.sii file in the decrypter folder. 

 

 

In the decrypter folder, drag the game.sii file on scsc.bat

 

 

Now you can open game.sii with a text editor (notepad, notepad++...).

            Find the lines "user_colors". The numbers match with the colour position in the game panel.

 

 

 

To share it to your friend, you just need to copy your colour number in one of his 8 user_colors lines, and replace the game.sii file in your saved profile by this modified one.

Hello there,

 

I am going to be archiving this guide as this is no longer needed, due to SCS recently adding RGB and hex colour inputs for vehicle paint jobs in the configuration menu. Therefore, people can just share the numbers and have the correct paint applied directly in-game.

 

Additionally, your images are not longer available.
