I am happy to see that you slowly grasp the idea of J-SPEC.

What you unfortunately still fail to understand is that a J-SPEC truck is not "shitty" but basic, and that it also can accelerate but, depending on the chosen engine power, correspondingly slower.

Floor your 700+ bhp truck irl and you will need to refuel quite often. Trucks with lower bhp, in this case referring to j-spec, are meant to display trucks as the can be used in most trucking or forwarding companies. They don'T really need acceleration. In those buisnesses it's more important to be cheaper than the competitor. You can get that adventage by being economical rather than being fast as you have time slots to load / unload your cargo. Being too fast may cost you more than being a little bbit slowe, but just-in-time.

Slower accelerating may cost you some time, but most of the time you do spend in cruising mode, meaning you don't need that much power, especially, because most trucks irl are limited to a max speed of 90 kph or even lower. Who wouldn't have thought of that  So it doesn't matter how much bhp you have due to the fact that you don't need it while cruising.

One more thing to add is that lower bhp engines tend to be more economical than higher bhp engines, especially when cruising.

Ofcourse this doesn't mean that every truck has to be <500 bhp. Like heavy haul trucks need to have that kind of bhp, but that's a different point

Please drive respectful on the servers. Thank you!

@TurklerRS at the end of the day, the need you have to modify your own personal truck is the need others have to make their trucks look realistic and fit in with the majority of other ones on the road in real life, especially the fleets of larger companies.

I don’t get why the whole acceleration and accessory part is being brought up in your argument. The people who voluntarily use J-Spec trucks are fully aware of the decreased acceleration times, etc and just aren’t a fan of accessories like you may be. If you’re happy supposedly being ‘rich’ and using accessories and modifying your truck to your need then go ahead, these people are doing the exact same just on the other end of the spectrum because it’s their own personal preference and they seek a bit more realism in their gameplay.

I don't even like driving with 750bhp. Feels like driving a fast car. I like to hear that engine revving and having to work to get the job done.

Also when you shift manually 750bhp is not fun. You can skip all the gears then and use 3 gears to get up to 80km/h. With a 20 tonne load.

My current J-Spec truck.

New gen Scania S580 4x2 in that rather lovely metallic blue. A couple of little Mighty Griffin parts such as the door handle trim but nothing major.

I'm going to quote the rules below since they seem to be skipped before posting.

How to make a J-Spec Truck

Following rules are strict and standardised so far:

1. No V8 engine, No Engine over 510 HP (If you need more than 510 HP you are an idiot - maximum lowest available engine over 500 hp, can be and strictly advised below 500 hp)

2. Sideskirts are ok as long as they're just stock

3. Stock rear lights

4. Max one(1) lightbar

5. Simple company skin

6. Plastic Parts if available

Your truck does not fit within the guidelines.

Anyway, here are two pictures from my latest drive from Strasbourg to Ancona.

Went for a great drive through Germany. Also, the Realistic Lighting Mod is fantastic as usual.

This is my truck, I took the image a while ago, so you can ignore the engine. I really have changed to the J-spec type of trucks. I remember I use to go crazy with mine, having lights everywhere. But these trucks are so much nice now in my eyes!

Without the engine, would this count is my question? It is a bit more than a regular truck (8x4 chassis and the bumper bar, but its still simple)

To following the J-spec spirit: Maybe. The bottom bumper bar would hurt clearance that would be vital for on and off road usage, and the top bar by the logo seems more like an extra than anything else. The paint job is a bit fancy but I could excuse that due to the specialist nature of the chassis.

As to additions: perhaps beacons and the LED beacon flashers on the front to complete the heavy haul look and certainly look into save editing a DAF 16 speed into it, they are totally worth it for torque control.

Thanks for the reply!

I didn't notice the bar near the logo haha.

Pushed the upper boundaries of J-Spec with this, simply due to engine size alone. I was going after this Opex Logistics truck and trailer.
