Hello  ;)

Suggestion Name : Traffic assistance vehicles

Suggestion Description When playing multiplayer, you often come across players in difficulty stuck on lanes or against a guardrail. Many players do not know what to do in these cases and try to get back on the road, often blocking or interfering with traffic from other players.

Our idea is to create a group of people who manage these small incidents and so improve traffic flow. Their mission is to manage the incident, but also to warn and inform other players in the sector to avoid the little incident causes big problems come the players. The members of this group are not admins and would not be there to sanction but might just help relieve admins and small incidents not serious. They would, however, in connection with the admins to report a problem reserved for admins.

To identify the players and that they can carry out their tasks, they may have a different vehicle trucks player, a truck equipped with a signal equipment, for example a light arrow, or a van with special markings and orange flashing lights.

Traffic officers would conduct patrols and could be warned by the players, with a code like /help + Player Id. + Incident place.

To help forums members to visualize missions and vehicles, here are the equivalents for some countries : France > DDE/DIR / UK > Highways Agency Traffic Officers / Netherlands > Rijkswaterstaat / Sweden > VägAssistans.

Any example images : We create some traffic management vehicles from differents countries to show you some examples.

Vehicles in The Netherlands

Vehicles in Sweden

Why should it be added? We think that this service can help to keep traffic flowng and calm on multiplayer avoiding the problems between the blocked person or having a problem and players wanting to continue their journey without delay on delivery. It also adds realism for what road never crossed the yellow van on the roadside?

Thank you for taking the time to read our idea  ;)

Prime > I understand what you say, I want to emphasize that this will be a group like the admins, the players will not be able to do all this role. The objective is really to reduce the work of admins for small incidents. Unfortunately, it will not stop some players to keep doing what you say.  ;)

Best ones to use, imo, would be the truck type. With the collision chusson mounted on it's rear end.

Dude, this is an internet forum. You can't expect people to read stuff. Jeez.

And we want players who can behave, I'm afraid we can't have what we want :(

Our idea is to create a group of people who manage these small incidents and so improve traffic flow.

We already have a group that does this. They are called ADMINs. Once you are blocking a road and other player reports you, you are likely to be kicked.

The blocked player can than resume his journey and the kicked player can offline find a solution..

If the vehicles were given the ability to teleport, then this idea might work.

Teleports are bad in MP. One of the major reasons why people get in an accident (except speeding) are trucks spawning just in front of you.

If this gets implemented I swear I'll play the game 24/7. Love this idea! +9000

Being kicked/banned or randomly disappearing is nowhere near from realism. Edited by HumaneWolf

Thank you to all for your answers  :)

I agree with zyprexia, it's not a good idea to teleport traffic incident response vehicles on scene because it is not a non-collision zone, but with a good organisation of members of the group, we can respond quickly on incidents.

Concerning the management of the incident, if a player is really blocked and can't move, it is a good idea to be able to teleport the player in the nearest garage ( non-collision zone ).

To add realism, we can also do that some messages of the members of the group be visible to all players in chat, that allow to have a point on the traffic in real time and to be informed if we will encounter an incident.

For traffic incident response vehicles, I agree with The Leeds Lad, an SUV with special marking ( like pictures of The Leeds Lad ) and amber lights would be easier to create  ;)

And this could be useful when having some global traffic regulations. (example: Europoort closing.) This kind of crew could save some work for admins. Everybody remembers when the EP was closed.

I mean that players must have been recruited by an admin who is in charge of the "faction/group".

Because imagine if everybody can use it. There would be a lot of orange cars everywhere...

Think about it ;)

I'm sorry, but I don't see this working. Someone flips his truck or gets stuck, blocking a road, and everyone else on that road has to wait for some assistance car to arrive? I've found people stuck and asking for help, I help them by opening the chat and typing "Press F7+Enter+Yes" If I can keep going, that's all, if not, I report them. Sorry, maybe it was an accident, but you're blocking the road and stopping other players. Garage teleporting was made for these situations. And it's much faster for an IGA to teleport, see the incident and kick the player so he/she can restart the game and keep driving from last save point than having to drive from... where? How many people would be needed in this "assistance team" to provide coverage in such a huge map? One per city? One per country?

So it's a -1 from me. Although I reckon it would be nice to see some new vehicles on the roads.  ;)

It's a nice idea, but by the time it'll get to the problem, the truck probably could have been moved, or the problem solved.
