Like the one above. Just to give us players abit more fun:)) No electrons were harmed during the creation, transmission or reading of this posting. Prime Posted May 18, 2015 Share Posted May 18, 2015 I'm pretty sure that escort skins will not come to the game since this could cause issues with people blocking roads etc. which is already a (small) problem with players pretending to be escort and thinking they have the right to play police. Well, In Canada you're allowed to, but not until the truck is ready to make a corner (that's only when they're allowed to block it).. I know cause my dad does them all the time lol. We're gonna have some 12 year old kids running around in these thinking they own the road and know everything about everything and in a bad way, be in the way and so on and might even cause accidents if they think they'll "lead a long/wide transport" and try to stop traffic or so on and that leads to anger amongst many drivers since their cargo might get damaged and truck might get damaged. For a mature community this might have been a good idea, but you have to consider that about 50% of the players here don't have a license, have never ever sat in a truck, barely knows how it moves in different ways and so on. Therefor a mod like this for the public is not a good idea, for closed use amongst chosen players it might work tho. If you like for example have to apply to be able to use such vehicle and only after being approved it becomes available for you. That's what desire is, the need for what we can't have. I think that you might have to record/livestream a journey, leave it unedited, and upload it (if its not a livestream). A fully experienced driver who drives in real life will review the footage and decide whether you are capable or not of driving an escort vehicle. An escort vehicle is much much smaller than a truck. In reality, anyone could drive an escort vehicle, but only licensed drivers can drive a truck. However I don't think a simple video is enough, anyone could easily show off in a video good and if anything goes to hell just retake it and make another video. When it comes to livestream that's just out of the deal since you got to think about it that there's serveral of us out there that doesn't have as fast internet as you do and we can't stream because of that. Anyways I think just 1 video or deliver 1 trailer while streaming isn't good enough, i think this needs to be something you apply for on for example the forum and then get properly checked by the "judges" for previous bans, violations etc and they also keep an eye on you in-game at random moments then approve or deny the application. However this creates so much more work and is probably out of the question because of just that. That's what desire is, the need for what we can't have. Corky3D Posted May 22, 2015 Share Posted May 22, 2015 I really doubt they would do escort cars but I came up with a solution a quite a while ago I took the Volvo FH and put a yellow and red Duellist paint scheme on put quite a few beacons on and lights I don't drive with much people anymore so the truck is useless for me and I never use it, but I made it for escort reasons when ets2mp first came out I never used it for harm or anything but just a fun truck to lead convoys or heavy loaded trucks with friends of mine, but I think if kids start making these trucks like I did it might turn out bad as if the cars were released for escorts. Sometimes you might of seen me on the shoulder going to euro-port to warn people there is back ups or slow moving traffic was that against the rules probably but I never caused harm with this truck. However on other players screen the beacons flash 100 times faster so if you have a lot of beacons on your truck that just because really annoying for us other players that meet you and see all this flashing shit to be honest. 2 on the truck is more than enough i think and people in this game seem to have a problem to know when to use them or not, you don't need beacons on just to pull a normal trailer. Don't have trucks with beacons and additional lights on it better visibility for others than a much smaller car? I mean, if you need an escort vehicle, take a truck without a trailer, full stop. I hate to see when everyone just always wants new things and don't seem to evaluate first if the amount of work that's gonna be needed for the implementation would even be worth the benefit for the community. Witch, if used rihht, would be a nice addon to the game. Though, with this, as with every thing, it can be missused, witch seems to worry some... I, personaly see that i can be put to good use, but i can also see that it can be missused. Though, blocking accures now also, and i'm confiddent the rules on that won't chang I'd love to have a escort car when hauling that slightly oversized tractor, or down the highways in slow loving truck, with the escort safely tucked 150 - 200 meters behind (in front on two wway traffic roades ) Dude, this is an internet forum. In my eyes it has absolutely no advantages compared with a truck without a trailer. The only thing would be that it's good looking, but I somehow have the weird feeling when it's going to be released about 70% just drive around in it for no reason at all instead of hauling cargoes with a truck, what is in fact the actual sense of the game... I think the driving-physics won't be really better than with a truck, because without a trailer the acceleration isn't too bad and the speed limiter will most likely be activated for the car as well... So really now, what advantage will you get from it? In my opinion it's just another useless gadget which will attract all the kiddies around to do some stupid stuff...
