Good day Community

A while back a report was declined due to the moderator deeming the accident as a desynchronized accident, footage below
https://medal.tv/games/euro-truck-sim-2/clips/m4X9NcuTBv67U520Z?invite=cr-MSxTMncsNDc1NDk0NzY3&v=24

However after reviewing several videos I noticed that whenever an accident happens at a curve/bend that requires drivers to slow down the collision usually happens in an irregular manner; with the vehicles firstly getting into eachother, and then the collision physics kicks in at post contact.

You can also observe this when an in-game moderator is fast forwading a demo and a truck/vehicle goes through barriers whereas this doesnt normally happen when the demo is running at normal speeds.

Is this a bug within the base game itself (ets) or is this something that rarely happens and if so, Do moderators decline or accept these kinds of reports whenever such evidence is submitted even after considering the context of the incident?

I think that this is an important discussion to inform drivers whether or not they should report these kinds of accidents to avoid their website "declined" score to increase  or make other drivers suffer due to a bug even though some take corners too fast.

Either way this is a discussion meant to intergrate players and moderators within our community, Let me know what your thoughts are.

Kind regards

Hello @Braveknight

I watched the videos on medal and i think it causes by local mods. Do you use local mods ? if no, i believe it causes trucks that like going through fence is a major bug. I have experienced that i see some person is going through like using no clip mode.

It was scary because there was a game moderator back on my trailer and i can get kicked for that reason : > luckily it was my lucky day eheh

A other reason maybe your internet connection gets weaker at the time.  I believe that is not a reason for being banned from the TruckersMP. It is brings more reality in game if they don't use it for trolling.

After watching all the linked clips, none of that was desync. First clip was caused by a driver who couldn't stay in their lane. Third clip was caused by the driver over-steering into your lane.

I also laughed when the car in the first clip rolled on its own.

Desync is:

  • When only one player is affected from a collision. Such is the case of another player's weaker pc.
  • When a non-hacking player affects somebody else and isn't affected themselves.

Hello and thanks for your opinion🙂 i don't use any mods ( sound ,local, save edit nor steam ) , I use all that comes from TruckersMP nothing more , and since youve noted that youve once experienced something similar i believe this is something thats of common occurrence,  however in rare circumstances, just hard to have a detailed explanation you know 😅 i think the answer is more technical than it seems.

Although my internet is not perfect at times I think it might  be weird that it chooses curves and collisions to be bad, especially seing that everything is smooth on all other instances

I agree with you on this being some sort of a bug 🐜

hey @Sunstrider

You're 100% right, I also had my thoughts on reckless driving leading to both these encounters , I believe if both these players had been extra careful and decreased their speed such wouldn't have happened , and desync often occurs when ; The players number changes on the player panel as the game synchronizes the number of players around you as you go from crowded areas to less crowded virce versa (you can see this as you travel out of calais heading to the traffic light intersection), lag due to a player's hardware ,or for instances when you change into the next song on your ets2 music player for the first time without playing the music player you'll experience some lag aswell.

However trucks going into eachother and then they repel once the collison physics takes effect is a bit difficult to explain ,and I think only moderators ,web or game ops might have some clue as to what causes  that ,since it always happens on demos

In a normal collision, both of them would be launched into the air because forces are mutual. The fact that only one person is launched suggests that the other player has a network latency issue.

mhm @SuYiChen2021 thats an interesting take you know 🤔 however im not so sure if latency issue  is a prerequisite for that type of collision (mutual and launching into air ) quite possibly that would have to do with how fast both vehicles are going before impact, who knows, it could be different coding cases, you could be right but then again .....
