How to react when players trick you into crashing in TruckersMP?

Hello, today I encountered an unusual situation in TruckersMP.

It looks like a setup: the player seemed to let me pass, but when I started changing lanes, he accelerated. This could make it look like I violated the server's rules (points 2.2 or 2.5).

After that, he wrote "Down syndrome" in the chat. How should I respond to this kind of behavior?

Also, what is the best way to handle situations like this on the road to avoid breaking the rules or getting banned?

Correct me if I am wrong, but you have the right of way since you are supposed to "zipper merge" and you were the furthest vehicle ahead from the person behind you in the lane you were merging into. I personally think you merged appropiately and not right where the two lanes become parallel and I don't see anything wrong. 

 

In regards to the person writing in chat, I would ignore it and not even worry about it. Generally interacting with toxic behaviour is just going to bring trouble upon yourself in my view.

 

Best way to handle situations like these is to just keep your eyes forward and don't worry about what is going on behind you, and if something does happen then clip it for evidence. There won't be anything to worry about getting banned if you don't do anything super crazy. Worse case scenario you encounter something like this again, you can always just throw on your hazards and wait on the side of the road for traffic to die down, but that solely depends on how congested the area is, and then you won't have any worries since by the time you have to merge, the road will be clear of any vehicles.

I see no indications of the player letting you change lane in front of them. I see a player keeping a safe distance to the player in front. At this place, the player has right of way since it is considered a lane change and not a zipper merge. This is indicated by the lines following through the entire length of the lane and not ending before the lane ends.

 

This also means you had to give way to the player.
Due to lag the player might have been even further forward on his own screen and you might have been close to colliding with the player.

The other player was lagging. When it ended for them, they saw room to start driving.

 

I always ensure the player flashes their lights or comes to a full stop to let me in. Always use extreme caution on CD road and assume nobody is nice until they prove they are nice. 1 wrong move from you can lead to your second ban.

 

As for the language. Just ignore it and don't respond. If you do feel offended, you can report them for insulting. (Website reason should be chat "something"). I don't remember as i've never reported anyone for swear language.
