TommyPop Posted November 10 Report Posted November 10 We all get scared when we approach Calais: lag, reckless drivers, etc... And that is totally understandable but by following these 4 tips, I'm sure you will get through with ease. 1: AVOID TAKING THE MAIN EXIT. This is where all the traffic builds up, especially due to the service. So instead of taking the main exit, take the port exit, then take the 3rd exit near NBFC. It's a small detour that will make a big difference. 2: AVOID THE SERVICE, GARAGE AND LKW These are the busiest and more chaotic places in Calais, you will have a time trying to exit them. The exits are small and narrow and there are many people trying to get out at once, the perfect recipe for disaster, so avoid them at all costs!! Although LKW isnt as busy as the garage and service, its still pretty chaotic. Instead, choose Stokes or NBFC, so you can park your trailer in peace. 3: ON THE HIGHWAY LEADING TO THE INTERSECTION, MODERATE YOUR SPEED This is a pretty common mistake, people go 110 km/h in the highway and then crash because they cant slow down in time for the red light, causing big crashes and worse traffic. 4: MUTE YOUR CB RADIO Calais is very busy, which makes it a perfect place for trolls who blow up thier mic, it is in fact, very unpleasant and ruins the experience for many people. So, mute your CB and you will be fine.
