Sound Distortion when using TruckersMP

Good morning, everyone!

I'm running into a strange audio issue with American Truck Simulator (ATS) when launching it through TruckersMP. All in-game sounds become heavily distorted and low-quality, sounding like an overwhelming bass reverberation effect.

For context:

• Audio works perfectly in other applications.
• Single-player ATS (and ETS2) runs with normal, clear sound.

 

This problem only occurs when starting ATS and ETS2 via TruckersMP.

 

Any advice, troubleshooting tips, or solutions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

This is a known issue that occurs with some specific headsets, Razer is a known example.

That makes sense. For reference, I'm using a Razer Kraken V3 Pro with its wireless dongle connected via a USB Type-A port.

 

Are there any known workarounds for this issue at the moment?

Follow-up: I found a fix for Razer headsets!

After digging into Windows Sound settings, I discovered the culprit for Razer products:

1. Open Sound Settings
2. Select your Razer device
3. Scroll down to Audio Enhancements
4. Turn it OFF

This completely resolved the distortion in TruckersMP. Hope this helps others with Razer gear!
