Suggestion Name: Option to hide usernames for streamers (while keeping TMP ID and chat visible)

Suggestion Description: Add an option in the settings allowing players, especially streamers, to hide other players' usernames in-game, without disabling the HUD via the F11 key. This option would allow streamers to keep their interface (chat, map, TMP ID, etc.) visible while hiding only the usernames/usernames visible to nearby players, in the tab list, and above vehicles. Similar to the current F11 key, its functionality would be more selective and customizable, improving privacy without compromising usability.

Sample Images: No images, this is a conceptual feature.

Why add it:

- Helps streamers avoid sniping or harassment during live streams.

- Maintains access to important information like TMP IDs for reporting and chat visibility.

- Promotes a safer and more professional streaming experience on TruckersMP.

- Can also be useful for content creators who want to keep other players anonymous in their videos.

- Optional and configurable, this will not affect regular players who want all names to be visible.

I second to this.

There is another reason why this might be useful, although it may or may not apply to streamers in the west: on Chinese streaming platforms, a site moderator might warn or shut down a stream if there is an inappropriate nickname on screen, even if the nickname is from another completely random player. I know a streamer whose OBS configuration includes blur zones for the chat area for TMP, and player list area for racing game he plays. Hiding player names will make this concern less problematic.

I don't really see what the purpose for this would be. Players would still be able to find you, by your in-game ID, using things like the TruckersMP map. Having TMP ids present removes anonymity. The only benefit to this would be to hide inappropriate usernames, but these are typically few and far between and I'd doubt that reason alone would warrant the development effort this would require.

If I proposed this option, it's not to hide inappropriate usernames or anything like that; if I proposed this option, it's mainly to prevent people who see us streaming, whether on Twitch or on YouTube, from joining us and putting themselves in front of us, either in the most normal way by respecting the rules and therefore just to show their username to say oh I'm on a stream, or people who don't care about the rules who will go on the stream because they put themselves in front of the streamer and they piss him off, they .oy. that's why I want to put this option because it happened to me recently that a guy who was ill-intentioned saw me on stream and saw that I was sending the nicknames said to himself well hey but we're going to see my nickname I'm going to piss him off well the guy is ordinary at the moment but that's the problem that's that's that there are people who are ill-intentioned and who absolutely want to show that they exist and so they go on streams to piss off the streamers and say to themselves well there you go I went on a stream that's why I want to put this option

I really like this idea. As someone who watches streams a lot, I can definitely see how something like this would help. Being able to hide player names without losing chat or TMP IDs sounds like a smart way to keep things private without breaking the game.

Stuff like this can make streamers feel more comfortable, and when they feel supported, they’re more likely to keep streaming — which is great for all of us who enjoy watching.

Il peut toujours afficher l'ID TMP , je ne pense pas que ce soit d'une grande utilité.😅

I understand your point of view but if you are not a reporter or a streamer then you will not be able to understand my less seen. Know that stream sniping is also much more present than you think between the good guys and the bad guys it is annoying for us streamers if I propose this idea it is because unfortunately not long ago I was the victim of a stream sniping and for 8 minutes he pissed me off until they got up in the air hence the idea!

Maybe you need to remove all plates, tags, and names that indicates you're a streamer. Players target content creators because they want to be in a video, especially on CD Road.

  • My old videos show a different username that won't appear in any member searches.
  • I don't advertise when i'm live for a Chaos Drive. Nor, am i announcing when the series will be returning.
  • I also don't advertise any links in game. "Live on kick". "Come join me on YT".

Personally, I think it would be a great idea. I believe this system already exists, but it's currently limited to the moderation team (shout-out to any mods reading this!). It would just be a matter of releasing it to the public, so that when you see a player, instead of showing their full name, it displays a "Player" tag along with their TMP ID. That way, the screen would look much cleaner for content creators in crowded areas, instead of being cluttered with overlapping names when there are lots of people packed into a small area.

Yes, that's exactly it! The system already exists for moderators, and it's called Streamer Mode. Specifically, it allows you to:

hide the moderator's username by replacing it with "You" in the TAB,

display "The Suspect" when a player is selected,

and "The Player" when no player is targeted.

The idea would simply be to take this concept, already in place for moderators, and adapt it to streamers.

TMP could even go further by creating an official role for streamers, with certain criteria to meet (a bit like for Community Contributors), in order to promote those who actively participate in the community.

This role and mode could:

help protect against stream hacking,

provide visibility to serious content creators,

and, above all, encourage the positive promotion of TMP, particularly with the latest new features released by SCS, which TMP has quickly integrated.

In short, it would be a really excellent initiative to make this Streamer Mode official for creators, in order to strengthen the security, visibility, and overall quality of the community experience.
