I've noticed that when I approach a large bridge on the D side of the C-D route, or when I approach a newly built petrol station, and also, as the title says, when I enter Calais or on a congested bridge in Duisburg, there is a huge amount of lag.
My question is this: the frequent lags (FPS drops and jerky motion) are of course influenced by my communication environment (ping value is around 260), but is it also related to the specs of my PC?
My PC has an i5-4460 CPU and a GTX970 GPU, which was released 10 years ago. Is it possible that due to the low specs, the graphics processing in the PC is not working properly and data is not being sent to the server side properly, resulting in lag?
Also, do you think that using a modern PC will solve this low FPS and lag?
What is your opinion?

Hello @ito628,

  • I highly reccommend you to upgrade your graphic card and your cpu also you can increase your RAM if needed.
  • I would like to add the recommended specs for ETS2 and for TruckersMP.
  • Click HERE to visit the TruckersMP recommended and minimum specs and click HERE to visit the ETS2 recommended and minimum specs (Which is nearly same.)
  • If you don't want to upgrade your specs please try to lower your graphics settings and also try disableing "Season Effects", "Additional Lights", "Drivers Animation", "Draw Drivers", "Load Cabin Accessories", "Load Flags" and lowering your "Draw Distance" in tab menu. (Warning! If you lower your draw distance other players will appear when they are closer to you.)

I hope these would help.

Its best if you upgrade your computer since I used to have the same issue ,

If you cant just make sure to lower the quality it as much as you can by going to settings > graphics and show advanced settings to get the lowest graphic as you can.🙂

All the friends said what should happen, let me give a little information. Once there was an update to the computer driver (nvidia geforce experience) and I didn't notice the update. Therefore, I was experiencing performance losses in the game like you.

In fact, the only solution to the problem you are experiencing is to upgrade the computer you are using, mentioned above. However, still;  Very, very unlikely If there has been an update to the software of such computer components; Checking for updates may make your job a little easier.

At least until you replace the parts of the computer you are using with better ones, 😞

Your (and everyone else's) main issue is that TMP is massively un-optimized.

If you play the game in singleplayer, you will have better FPS, even adding more and more traffic etc.
Of course the mod TMP acts differently, needing to constantly load multiple people over a network etc.

Anyone, with any hardware, experiences lag in a populated area, better PC specs will help to an extent, but you will always lose many frames.
It is a TMP issue.

Unfortunately since 1.50 was released, TMP has seemingly been unable to figure itself out and has had a significant performance drop.
