What do you think about that?

  1. 1. Would you support this solution idea?

    • Yes,It can help to reduce high traffic density.

Issue: Traffic from the Calais exit to the city's traffic lights (up to the main road junction)
Proposed solution: Idea to replace the existing intersection with a butterfly intersection system

Description: As most players know, after exiting Calais, there can be long queues to connect to the main road (especially in the evening when most players are active) due to the high density of players and waiting at traffic lights. In this respect, a butterfly system intersection could be considered and placed in that area instead of the old one, in order to keep both directions of traffic from intersecting each other and to minimize waiting times and make the traffic as smooth as possible.

We know that such intersections and the layout of the road have been a landmark of the Calais-Duisburg road for many years, but they may not be able to cope with the increased traffic density of the growing community of players and this is open to discussion.

In addition, we know that the Truckersmp add-on team has recently replaced an old gas station near Calais with a new one, with the aim of creating a smooth traffic flow especially by minimizing the traffic generated in the area in the past. In the example I've presented, our main goal is to create a smooth traffic flow by minimizing traffic congestion, just like there.

Purpose and benefit: The placement of the butterfly system in the area could smoothly transfer traffic from one direction to the other, reducing the large and long traffic jams on the main road and providing a more modern and reliable transportation for the players there.

*I am attaching the pictures of the butterfly system intersection, which I propose to replace the existing intersection and its traffic, for informative purposes.

My bad. I suggested the light. Afterwards, i suggested a revamp to this.

Sadly, TMP isn't revamping it. SCS has to.

But we know that Tmp add-on team has recently published the gas station redesign which is near Calais in actual game. So,isn't there any possibility to do that by them?

Hey!
I have read the topic and have two objections to it.

The first, of course, is the reconstruction of the countries of Belgium and the Netherlands. I know that the C-D road is closer to being removed than it has ever been by SCS Software, hence the question arises, is there any point in further reworking the road junction there when perhaps in a few months no one will be driving there?

The second problem, already related to this project, is that this interchange is not collision-free. This means, more or less, that different roads intersect, which can cause further traffic jams and accidents. Of course, this road interchange can be planned differently, but is there any point if there is the problem described in the first point?

It's easy to guess that the gas station I built was still under development before the Christmas stream. I think that after that stream, the new gas station could also be in question if we started planning it now.
In conclusion, I like the idea, but thinking ahead, it may be unnecessary.

SCS has already Confirmed Be-Ne-Lux is next to be revamped in their Christmas Stream 2024. Any new additions made by TMP will be undone after this revamp.

This problem stems from server population. In the end, it doesn't matter how many lanes are added, how many NCZ's are present, how many alternative routes there are, how many security gates are placed, how many stop lights are added, how many revamps are done. In the end, the core problems will still exist:

  • Traffic clogging up all lanes.
  • Impatient drivers using shoulders, driving the wrong way, blocking traffic, causing accidents, driving off road.

Fix the bad drivers and the rest falls in line. Way easier said then achieved.

Hello

I don't think the add-on team is even allowed to make such changes to the game. As others mentioned before, Belgium/Netherlands & Luxemburg are the next to be revamped and the C-D road as we know it will most likely become a memory.

Even if the road would be changed to a highway with 2 lanes on both sides, it will not fix the congestion and the accidents. As I said in a different topic the road and it's design is not the problem. It is the reckless and careless drivers that ruin the experience for other people.

the best is to wait for the redesign of the benelux by scs software

The calais disbourg road will no longer exist, people will go elsewhere, it will be more realistic.

I'm wondering how the new roads will look, but if we imagine the DU CA road gets erased, where the players will go?
