TTV TMP_Malinois Posted December 7, 2024 Report Posted December 7, 2024 Suggestion Name: Ban TMP Account Deletion with an In-Progress Ban Suggestion Description: I am proposing this idea in response to some issues that have been encountered in-game by both myself and other players. The goal would be to prevent the deletion of a TruckersMP (TMP) account while a ban is in progress. For example, if a player receives a one-week ban, the button to delete their TMP account would be disabled until the entire ban period has been served. Once the ban is over, while it will still be recorded in the sanction history, the player would be able to access the option to delete their account again if they so choose. This measure could help prevent players from circumventing sanctions by deleting their account and creating a new one immediately afterward. Example images: Image 1: https://imgur.com/a/BPgxPv4 Image 2: https://imgur.com/a/VdiHkKk Why add it: I have been experiencing problematic behavior from players who are not following the rules of TruckersMP recently. These include: A player using a cheat (speedhack) whose TMP account had been created minutes before I reported it. Another instance where, while I was AFK at a gas station near Calais, an experienced player intentionally crashed into me. This caused my truck to move onto the road, blocking the way for 4 hours. I want to point out that these incidents involve players who created TMP accounts shortly before committing violations. This leads me to question the claim that bans cannot be circumvented by deleting and recreating an account. Indeed, I have seen concrete evidence, such as a recently banned friend who is currently riding after deleting and recreating his account. 2
Lucas6 Posted December 7, 2024 Report Posted December 7, 2024 Good suggestion. Many players violate TMP rules and evade responsibility by deleting their TMP accounts. Hope to get a response.

To stop that from happening in the future, if you press F1 to pause your game, no other player can cause damage to you or move you. Or also, maybe don't be AFK for 4 hours, and just close the game?? No C-D = A Better TMP
Granite Posted December 7, 2024 Report Posted December 7, 2024 Some information about deleted accounts remain in the database with their unique TMPID which are never recycled, they just don't vanish without trace. Part of that information is certainly ban history, they are still caught ban evading if attempting to play on the same hardware, should they delete the account or not.

Then, no matter how many times you get hit, you will stand still without any damage.
(Furry)NoahTheGamer Posted December 7, 2024 Report Posted December 7, 2024 that is an amazing idea i reported a player and by the time i made the report they deleted there account i also think that if a player have had a report made against them then they cant delete it either

鄂J 88888 Posted December 8, 2024 Report Posted December 8, 2024 This is a great suggestion to prevent players from evading bans If you choose to hang up, use F1 without taking damage

Indeed, I have seen concrete evidence, such as a recently banned friend who is currently riding after deleting and recreating his account. If a user gets banned their Steam ID gets stored. This data is stored indefinitely, so even if the user deletes their account and creates a new one with the same Steam profile, the ban will still exist on the new account. Whilst it would be nice to disallow banned users to delete their account, this would be a direct violation of Article 17 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Users have the right to withdraw consent of the usage of their personal data, meaning user accounts and similar. And so these must be deleted when asked (i.e. when they delete their account) If TruckersMP were to disallow users to delete their accounts, there would be serious legal consequences. That is correct. They most likely bought a Steam account that has the game or they purchased a key from a key reseller website and activated it on a new Steam account. Of course if another account of theirs is banned, they would also have to find a way to bypass TruckersMP's ban evasion detection. <--> | English / Dutch | <--> < Need help with anything? > < Someone broke the rules? > < Got banned unfairly? >

Yeah, so basically it's a loophole they're exploiting knowing full well that even if they get banned for ban evasion, they can just buy the game again and create a new account. Ultimately it's a loophole that moderation can't really counter.
jess.thetrain Posted December 13, 2024 Report Posted December 13, 2024 Yeah have to agree with Times here. As nice as this would be, just reading your post all I could think about was how big of a GDPR violation that would be jess.thetrain appeal a ban | appeal an appeal | make someone else appeal | game not working? click here | want the manager? click here
mth. Posted December 15, 2024 Report Posted December 15, 2024 Hey @TTV TMP_Malinois, Thanks for your suggestion! As mentioned by TimesTimes, we cannot accept this idea due to GDPR requirements. Therefore, we will have to decline your suggestion. Thanks for your understanding!
