Suggestion Name: Secondary Exit out of Duisburg

Suggestion Description: A promising route can connect to Dortmund to ease the traffic.

Red line is just a guideline and can be fine tuned

Why should it be added?: Leaving Duisburg is a pain from the bridge. Reckless drivers using the wrong side of the road to driving with single digit FPS from 190 players, makes this place a pain getting out of. My game's even crashed a couple of times within the city.

I'm unsure how this would ease the traffic. Most people leaving Duisburg are heading in the Calais direction, so it will still be mainly backed up on that exit anyway.

I'm more in favor having a second exit to the left instead of right, because the majority of the players going left towards Calais indeed.

I was actually thinking of creating some suggestion thread for this traffic jam. After the bridge in Duisburg pushing players to this already existing road (with some cones maybe) which still has connection to Calais direction. I personally prefer this secondary road when I want to leave Duisburg quickly. (I might still create another thread for this but, anyway.)

Wouldn't it be great if there were a direct road from Duisburg to Rotterdam?
(The roads to Rotterdam and Amsterdam, along with the port, would become popular again, just like in the old days.)

I agree with the others in saying a second way to leave Duisburg should be to the west as the majority of players are heading for Calais. Personally I think a road should be added heading towards Rotterdam but have it branch off and connect to the C-D road. Therefore, you have a road directly to Rotterdam which helps a ton, but also another way to get out of Duisburg allowing for smoother flowing traffic and hopefully a nice rise in FPS lol.

I like the Idea of Addtional Routes and Roads to Enter and Leave conguested Areas. As Simplayerwho like Traffic, but not to be Rammed and Trolled by Others, i would definetly use these Alternative Roads.

 

As Secondary Suggestion, i would also add some additional On Screen Messages when you closing in to Duisburg/Calais:

 

Warning, you are entering a conguested Area, you might be involved in not wanted Group Cuddle with Other Players!

I would love to see Europort Jams return like they did in the Alpha days. Problem is, SCS has to revamp Netherlands first. 2, everyone just wants Duisburg-Calais route. Not Rotterdam-Luxembourg.

I did consider adding another line from South Duisburg to Dusseldorf as another alternative. TMP's Duisburg did have a connection from the city to Dusseldorf.

Even if there was an alternative route towards CD, there would still be loads of traffic jams when it comes to merging the two routes.

So, unless I am missing something, I don't see how this is going to work in a positive way.

Good idea, people that are avoiding the route to Calais can exit faster and not have to stay in a traffic jam

Just like with Calais or the rest of the C-D road, we don't intend to make any major change to the Duisburg area in the foreeseable future. Smaller tweaks could be considered to ease the flow of traffic, but not a entire second road to enter or leave the city.
