Hey guys,

I have a pre-order for the Hori Truck Control System (it will be available at the end of November in the Czech republic) and I'd love to know, what do you think about this steering wheel. Especially if you already own one.

Thanks in advance for all your responses!

I got it 2 weeks ago, added about 30+ hours extra driving. It is amazing in every single way. The immersion of the wheel angle, the 1800 degrees and the 40cm size is another level. For the first time you really have extreme precision when steering. The buttons are automatically assigned and I have access to all truck functions easily. Even on VR it is so easy to build muscle memory to not even require looking at them.

Material quality is not top of the top as g29 and higher but it is very good overall and will not let down anyone.

I believe you want regret it

One thing you need to prepare though is get some antislip thingy to stick under the pedals as they are very slippery and will not stick to the floor.

I bought a phone antislip mat and used to double side tape to avoid permanently glueing. Now i don't have any issues.

I can't give an honest review as I do not own it. However, it looks amazing and taking in consideration all of the reviews, it's a great wheel and I am sure you'll have a good experience. Let us know how you get on!

I was interested in it but read a few reviews on reddit, watched some youtube videos and made a conclusion that it's way too expensive for the overall quality you get imho. 600 bucks is overpriced, if you can catch it on a deal for let me say 400 bucks, why not?

“You will begin to touch heaven, Jonathan, in the moment that you touch perfect speed. And that isn’t flying a thousand miles an hour, or a million, or flying at the speed of light. Because any number is a limit, and perfection doesn’t have limits. Perfect speed, my son, is being there.”

It is expensive yes, and in that price range you are closer to a direct drive Moza wheel. But!:
- It is plug and play, whereas Moza you have to get the wheel base, etc.

- All 100+ buttons are automatically mapped correctly. I wouldn't even bother to set 100 buttons manually tbh.

- You really get an enhanced immersion. I have driven trucks in real life, and 1800o radius, 40cm diameter and the angle of the wheel will really shock you how true it feels.

- If you are a ETS/ATS fanatic, you won't regret the money. If you are an average driver then maybe a g29 etc is all you need for half the price and better material quality.

Btw. if anyone gets a 1800o wheel, get a wheel knob. Reversing and steering side to side is 5 rotations! You really don't have enough time to steer while the truck is moving.

On Amazon France, it completely poluted by speculation, it's at 1000€ at the moment , but when it's out of stock, it can go as far to 1200€, 1400€... I will personnaly wait for it to get cheaper (I hope so) to get one.

I was able to get it for a bit of a discount at around £400 and I will say it does not disappoint. I have put on around 80 Hours in the past 2 weeks. One thing I would change though is the parking brake on the shifter module which is very sensitive and the indicator stick which I thought would imitate a real stick but its more like a button that goes up and down if you get me. Apart from that though its literally just plug and play because everything is automatically binded. You can also change the stiffness of the shifter (loose for an old truck feel and stiff for a new truck feel) aswell as changing the modes between manual and sequential. The buttons for the most part are also very well made. Its a huge upgrade from my Logitech G27 which I got about 10 years ago now. I would say if you have the extra money lying around then you should 100% go for it just be sure to not go for Amazon and its crazy prices. If you have any more questions about the wheel I would be happy to answer them.

Echo the replies above, all accurate. Just to add that it does stick out another 15~20cm compared to e.g Logitechs so be prepared to adjust your ergonomics accordingly. For myself I have to slide the monitor forward to see it more comfortably, then when moving the wheel out the way slide the monitor back towards the wall, but it then gives me a clear workdesk space.

This, I run a G29 myself and I'd say it's better for me, since I have a smaller desk and my hands are kinda small as well 🙂
