What happens to old bans?

I wanna know because i got banned over a year ago, for 7 days.  Now ive been banned again, for 14 days this time. My main question is, what happens to these old bans? Do they still apply to §2.8? Or do bans get deleted from the ban history after a set amount of time, like points on a drivers license for example in real life

as Rule 2.8 mentioned by you states.
Banns over a year ago are ignored.

But the history still stays unless its a ban by mistake as you can see in picture below from the Knowledge Base
