[ S.PLH ] Warrior Posted September 17, 2024 Report Posted September 17, 2024 Suggestion Name: speedbumps at fuel station Suggestion Description: disallow to go with highspeed through the fuel station Any example images: nvt Why should it be added?: players use the fuel station as secondary road to bypass the players who drive over the main road, and merge back onto the main road without giving way and causing issues and accidents. by adding speed bumps (at entry and exit should be placed) the speed will be much lower so they lose the advantages and stick to the main road. i believe this will be a win/win for the players and for the moderation team. 8 1
Sunstrider Posted September 18, 2024 Report Posted September 18, 2024 As demonstrated at the Rotterdam/Brussels Interchange, players will still fly through the speedbumps. I've seen cars speed through them and treat them as actual speedbumps. I'd rather a city enforced speed limit of 20 be applied to the gas stations. That way, if anyone wants to bypass, they'll have to suffer through slow speeds or stick to the main road. 1

With how City Speed limits work in-game, this would not really be the solution you are hoping for. Trucks are already going 90+ on CD road. When they hit the city limit, they would still maintain that speed, and maybe drop 10kph before getting to the gas station. That would still leave trucks going about 100kph (if they are going the max 110kph) once they got to the station, depending on where the city limit starts. To actually get them down to the 20kph, you'd have to start the city limit all the way from the interchange on the West side, and the dam on the East side. While I like that in theory (cause who wouldnt want calm driving on CD road), it's not practical overall. Though with your wording, you are suggesting just the gas station itself, which wouldn't work at all. Trucks would essentially be unaffected by the city limits, given they can be going 110kph. They still be able to fly in at speed, and fly out the other end at maybe 105kph. City limit would only be effective if the trucks actually slowed down. Most effective way, if it were ever at all possible, would to be force a slowdown through the road layout it self. Instead of the straight shot that it is, it gets reworked to where entering the station forces you on a S shaped path lined with guard rails. You'd have to slow down for the turns, or risk not making it at all. Barring a road rework, speed bumps would not be a terrible idea. Yes, people still fly through them, but I've been through them. They aren't easy to control on at normal speeds, let alone high speeds. It would at least serve as a deterrent, and slow down some drivers more then them not being there at all. 4 TruckersMP Report Moderator
Guest If Its Itchy,Just Scratch Posted September 18, 2024 Report Posted September 18, 2024 Speedbumps will not Work, in Fact, they are inviting much more People to do Reckless Driving. Cause there is the possibility to Jump over them, when they come at Fullspeed down the Ramp! The Only Thing that would prevent Reckless Driving Trolls from doing the Speeding on the Gas Station is a change of the Layout of the Gas Station. As example, no direct road that lead to the Fuelpumps from the Exit Ramp. Just make a Hard Turn to the Right, at the End of the Exit, than lead the Road into an Round About, where are 3 Exits! 1 To the Parking Area, 1 to the Fuelpumps and 1 back to to Highway/Main Road!
Granite [SVK] Posted September 18, 2024 Report Posted September 18, 2024 A sharp turn at the entry point with barrier to prevent cutting straight through it will work way better, making them just hit the wall head on if they try. 1 1
'glσck Posted September 18, 2024 Report Posted September 18, 2024 I think such an idea was implemented back in the days and removed after a while for unknown reason (at least for me). I think this is not a bad idea though and it doesn't necessarily have to be speedbumps as someone above mentioned reckless drivers could use them as a ramp. But there are also barriers like at a railway that would raise when someone approaches them. Maybe it won't look much realistic but for sure is much more feasible rather than modifying current appearence of gas station by adding sharp turns to force speed reduction on players
'Mousa Posted September 18, 2024 Report Posted September 18, 2024 The traffic signal or such a train can be added that closes the road and bore the role of a joint 1 'Mousa | TruckrsMp |
ThatSunnyGuy Posted September 18, 2024 Report Posted September 18, 2024 Speed bumps won't do anything because drivers will drive through it and anyone would not care about it personally.

We had them actually before at old Duisburg fuel station, and the most of the players where actually driving slowly over these bumps, of course there is always some players who rush over these as we cannot stop them all. but is at least a effort in reducing the chaos there. you cannot collect safely fuel because now there is some players who drive through the fuel station with 110km/h , and if they exit the fuel station and there is traffic on the road mostly they overtake at right side and at merging point they force themself into the main lane and cause a accidents or drive over the grass and overtake illegally. i mean they have no patience whatsoever. The layout is fine on how it is but it's now to easy to access and exit it.

I have plenty recordings of People who intentional going with Highspeed along the Fuelpumps only for the Thrill, the "record" are 8 Players in a row, as i tried to leave the Fuelpumps. But, to quote many Moderators, this is "only" a kickable Offense, as long they are not causing a Crash! As long there are no Consequences for those Reckless Drivers, they will doing it! Like you said it is currently too Easy for them, and a change of the Road Layout to lower the Speed is, in my Opinion, the most effective Option.

The city speed limit would work. Instead of doing an S shaped, put a security checkpoint with a barricaded gate in front of the entrance. This forces players to come to a stop, take damage, or stay on the main road with railings on both sides preventing a pass. Once they get passed it, they are doing 20 through the whole gas station. If this was to happen, i'd recommend extending the exit lanes so traffic can queue without blocking the entire road. Like Mth. told me, SCS has hinted Netherlands & Belgium is next for a revamp. Given that there's a highway into the border should extend and maintain a better road. Regardless, we'll have to first wait for the day and see the changes. Hopefully, before 2026. 2
Хидара Posted September 27, 2024 Report Posted September 27, 2024 Yes. You can put a barrier in front of the entrance and a speed limit from it. Hidara Veteran Driver VIII | Member since: 31 Dec 2015 23:30 UTC TruckersMP ID: 751173 Languages: Russian, English, Japanese.
Catonaut Posted October 2, 2024 Report Posted October 2, 2024 I get your point but as others already said, I prefer something like an S curve both at the entrance and when leaving the gas station. So players, or more like racers, can't even accellerate in the gas station to be fast at the end. Better idea would be a 360 curve for entering asnd leaving (big enough for all trailer combos ofc), so racers won't even be able to drive as fast through the S curve as possible
Ahmet16 Posted October 2, 2024 Report Posted October 2, 2024 I like the idea of the speedbumps and I think it's worth trying before a bigger adjustment is made, but not just one bump but several in a row. If the results are not good enough after this adjustment, a change can be made to force the design to slow down a bit more.
(Furry)NoahTheGamer Posted October 20, 2024 Report Posted October 20, 2024 i agree what the GM said however having a divider to stop trucks skipping the traffic jams would work instead i think in my opinion like a filter lane with a divider in
Community Manager mth. Posted November 4, 2024 Community Manager Report Posted November 4, 2024 Hello @[ S.PLH ] Warrior, Thanks for your suggestion! We’re pleased to let you know that we’ll be adding speedbumps to the westbound fuel station (heading toward Calais), mirroring those already on the eastbound side. At this time, we don't have an estimated release date for this content, so we appreciate your patience. Have a great day! 1
