Road Warrior Sr. Posted August 20, 2024 Report Posted August 20, 2024 (edited) I would like to propose that Truckersmp add and support the Special Transport DLC for ETS and ATS Why should it be added?: I believe it would add greatly to the realism and provide players looking to further devolpe their virtual driving career by providing them with new and exciting challenges, we presently have the player owned trailers , tractors and pilot cars for Special Transport but lack any form of loads that would compliment these amazing in-game additions. L-DR@GO Posted August 21, 2024 Report Posted August 21, 2024 Well, ai cars is the problem. Special transport might be added depending when TMP adds ai cars. Men.. I can magine the level of coding for that. It ain't gonna be easy. Good luck to Add-On Team
Road Warrior Sr. Posted August 21, 2024 Author Report Posted August 21, 2024 @L-DR@GO we do however have human driven pilot cars available , and not every special transport requires a pilot.
TYXIS Posted August 21, 2024 Report Posted August 21, 2024 Greetings To make things easier with the AI problem. It should be possible to spawn only the trailer (via the offer dispatcher for example). It's then up to players to either find friends to do the pilot cars, or transport their goods alone without a pilot car. But it's true that it's a real shame not to be able to play with the trailers in this DLC on TruckersMP, especially for players who play almost exclusively on the server and never solo. I'd add to that, why not have the option of buying the pilot cars from the SPECIAL TRANSPORT DLC at the various dealerships (only for owners of the dlc, of course)? Sorry if translation is not perfect i speak french
Granite [SVK] Posted August 21, 2024 Report Posted August 21, 2024 Special transport uses different versions of the trailers with their own def files and if you try to use those defs, server auto kicks. These trailers are longer than the standard version you can own and the special transport loads are very often wider than single driving lane or extremely long (or both). Special transport jobs not only feature accompanying vehicles, but also scripted events in the form of police presence at practically every intersection you are going to pass, which makes the AI traffic problem much deeper. These jobs also have predefined routes (which are rather short) and restricted speed, if those are not followed, the job fails on the spot. If TMP would allow the special transport jobs (even without AI - which would make the job pointless and boring without the need to pay attention to traffic), trailers and loads to be usable, what do you think would happen? Nobody would bother with the jobs. Instead, a large amount of people would incorporate those trailers and loads into their own frankentrailers to create longest possible combos, while of course making them zero weight too (trademark of save editing in TMP). 2 1

I wasn't aware that it was so heavily dependent on ai ... Should have researched it better , just wish we could some larger loads or better variety in the heavy cargo DLC .... maybe thats my next course of action , hit up SCS to update heavy cargo with greater variety.

Actually, you have a bit more options in ATS than ETS2, you can buy some DLCs for a lot more (visible) cargo for lowboy, dropdeck and even flatbed trailers. Appart from Heavy Cargo Pack, look up Forrest Machinery, Farm Machinery, Volvo Construction Equipment and JCB Equipment Pack, each one is like 5 bucks when not on sale, the latter two are also available for ETS2. Some of these are quite heavy and/or oversize.

As long as you're not massively under the speed limit on a busy route, you'll be fine. Ignore anyone who needs to do 110km/h E.g, parts of the c-d have a limit of 60km/h, you can't be blamed for doing the speed limit 1 No C-D = A Better TMP
Sunstrider Posted August 22, 2024 Report Posted August 22, 2024 Special Transport is unsupported on TMP for a reason. Not only are the loads way bigger then standard sizes, they also have ai cars escorting you to the destination. Additionally, Special Transport would be a huge troll on CD Road. And ProMods Quarry Road would be EVEN WORSE. Single Player or Convoy Mode are your other options. Or, use non Special Transport to play TMP.
If Its Itchy,Just Scratch Posted August 22, 2024 Report Posted August 22, 2024 Honestly, i would appreciate if the Player would be able to use the Special Transport in TruckersMP. It would open a new Part of Roleplay and Teamplay for Players who want to play the Game (TruckersMP) as Simulation and for those who want to use the Pilotcar as Pilotcar! Unfortunately, TruckersMP is not intended to provide a truly Simplay Environment. Therefore, like as always in this Game, every new Content will be, sooner or later, been abused by the Players who are only here to cause Death, Chaos and Destruction! I am sure, the "AI" is at this Point not a real Problem! Tired of being Banned and Insulted for Reckless Driving/Overtaking?! Join the "6x4-300" Horsepower Gang! Well yes, you have different trailer versions. But 3 out of 4 are already in use im TMP. The ATS long lowbed chassis works fine, and the two ETS2 six axle lowloader chassis work. TMP staff even told me they are allowed. Just have a look when someone has a b-triple with that long lowloader at the end. Those are normally the special transport trailers. Right now you only get them by save editing (or someone made a mod aout of them). The 10 axle lowbed is still forbidden, because turning with it needs a lot of space behind the end of it (which isn't an issue for a skilled driver). You can actually use all these trailers to carry the cargoes from the heavy cargo dlc such as the loco or the crane. Gotta admit it works fine. So basically it would be more the big cargos that don't fit in the game. So in my opinion, due to the fact that 3 out of 4 trailers already work, why not also allow the last one aswell and look, how players drive with it. After a test cycle TMP staff can still decide if they also wanna add the cargoes and escort vehicle, etc. (if possible) or restrict players from using them any further.
TheBHFanatico Posted October 3, 2024 Report Posted October 3, 2024 (edited) This DLC would be nice but with all the kids who cant even drive double trailer they would close the roads because the wide load. Next thing is the saveedits with 3 trailers etc. First we need an SCS Update to steer the axels. Its very hard to park the trailer in tight spots. Next thing is the roads are not really made for this Type of transportation. In TMP you could have a spotter but the other player are not really patient to drive slow or doesnt want to make space for passing. But it would be nice to see this in the Ops in some routes. edit// One point i have forgotten to write the lowbed trailer are not really good synced. Sometimes i drive a corner and my friend says i am cutting so hard that i collide with the roadsigns but in my sidemirror i have good space to the signs.
