Featured Zone: The Alps

Greetings truckers!

We have received alarming reports of the poor state of some roads in the Austrian Alps. A freak weather event has severely damaged the roads, rendering them almost undriveable, affecting delivery times and damaging cargo!

Fear not, our “Road Maintenance Team” (Event Team) are springing into action, preparing the site, equipment and personnel required for any repairs necessary.

With this comes the return of our Featured Zone events following the success and engagement received from the previous edition.

What are we up to?

In this edition, for a 2 week period starting on the 30th of August until the 13th of September on Simulation 1, the creation of operation sites and roadworks repairs will be happening live on the Austrian alpine roads.

To allow for swift resurfacing, we will be closing the road in one direction at a time. There will be diversions and changes in directions of travel, as well as temporary speed limits for safety. Temporary traffic lights may also be put into use.

For this Featured Zone, there will be a total of 4 different phases. Phases 1 through 3 will increase in intensity, meaning more additions and activity. From Phase 4 the workers will finish off their roadworks. Keep an eye out on our socials to see what is coming up next!

What to expect in future Featured Zones?

We began Featured Zone with a bang, with a live, in-game construction project to bring the highways around Calais up to ‘Managed Motorway’ standards. Now, we’re back with our second edition. However this time things are a bit different to the 1st edition. Going forward our operations that are part of Featured Zones will be on a smaller scale than you have previously seen. This edition will not result in permanent changes to the area, although this is still a possibility for future editions.

Whilst travelling through the area please remember the following:

• Queues are likely, please be patient and follow all road rules.
• Follow all signage and instructions provided by TruckersMP staff.
• Reduced speed limits are in place throughout the zone.
• Do not stop in the zone: if you break down, use F7 to teleport to services.

2 weeks for 4 phases seems little short, i don't mind if these events where like 4 weeks imo.

some have to work and cannot experience all the phases on a 2 week event, nevertheless it will be a cool event in a new location on the map.

I don't understand this. Can someone tell me if this is happening live on the server EU1? Or is this something that I have to sign up for and will be led by admins? And what will I do? Just drive around that area and it's harder to drive through?

This event is divided into different phases, with each phase bringing specific changes. Currently, the only noticeable difference is that the road surface has been altered to reflect the 'needs resurfacing' phase. However, as the event progresses, you’ll see staff members actively working in the area to help resurface the road.

 

The event will take place on Simulation One (also known as EU1), and there’s no need to sign up—simply drive through the area. Since this was planned by the Event Management team, it will primarily be run by members of the event team (I assume). However, you’ll likely see staff members from other teams as well, and admins will undoubtedly be present to ensure everything runs smoothly.
