hertzspeed Posted August 15, 2024 Report Posted August 15, 2024 Suggestion Name: Safety Rating System for all servers Suggestion Description: How it works Every user starts at a specific Safety Rating (3000, 1000, 0). Each server has a specific minimum Safety Rating requirement. Let's say Sim1 is the starting Safety Rating (if the starting Safety Rating is 3000, the Sim1 minimum requirement is either 3000 so new players can play on Sim1 straight away or just slightly more so new players are forced to play in a "more reckless" server [ill get to that] before they can access Sim1 [which should be a heaven of safe driving by now]) and Sim2 is let's say 1000 below Sim1 and Arcade has no Safety Points requirement. After an infraction you lose Safety Points, now what does this mean?! It means that depending on the infraction you lose Safety Rating, the worse the infraction the more Safety Points you lose. What happens if you lose too many Safety Points? well you get relegated to Sim2 (the slums) until you get your driving in order! Obviously, just because you used to be a bad driver doesn't mean you can't change. There will be a system that increases your safety rating by a small amount every minute (or hour) of play. Maybe getting reported will make that amount slightly smaller but not by a lot so it's not abused in some way to decrease someone's Safety Rating without them doing anything bad If you appeal a ban and the appeal is accepted, you get back the Safety Points you lost. Any example images: n/a Why it should be added: I think adding this will greatly improve driving standards in Sim1.
[ S.PLH ] Warrior Posted August 15, 2024 Report Posted August 15, 2024 there is one downside to this, players will just delete there account and create new account to be able to play again on sim1. (if they are not banned, but just lost there safety rating) if we somehow can stop that with a cooldown feature that players cannot make a new account directly, it would be interesting this safety rating. 2

If you delete your account, there is already a 14 days cool-down, so you cannot create a new account for 14 days after account deletion. 2
Sunstrider Posted August 15, 2024 Report Posted August 15, 2024 Adding this won't change nothing. Once the bad drivers get one less server, they are just going to move to the next open server and continue being bad drivers. I would rather there be something to actually teach them what it means to drive and what the rules are.

The whole point is though: Yes, they may continue to be bad drivers, but they won't be able to drive on the server(s) with higher safety rating(s) which means ultimately you'll have a server with people who drive properly while the ones that don't are forced to go to the other servers. So in the end it will, I think, very much achieve the goal of creating at least one server with a higher standard in terms of safety and realism. .

There are some really good drivers. Everyone has to be careful because he wants full DLC.

But i do like the idea you got @sim3500

I like the idea as it comes from racing simulators like ACC, BUT I see some rather big and red flags in it. I understand why you propose this, but there far too many things that the player isn't in control of, like lag, extra high ms, potato users in traffic, reaction time, save edited vehicles in traffic, double / 2 trailer mod glitching, etc.. You never know what will cause you to flicker to others. ETS2 and ATS are no racing games, so the best solution would be to have "Sim 1" be just the base game with no DLC maps and have "Sim 2" require all map DLCs just like for ProMods. All nerve racking problems will be eliminated with this and with a return of more punishing rules/penalties/BANs vs misconduct. Everybody would be happy and relaxed after this. 1
mth. Posted September 10, 2024 Report Posted September 10, 2024 Hello @sim3500, Thanks for your suggestion! We have previously declined similar ideas regarding the implementation of rating or "demerit point" systems. Our stance on this matter remains unchanged, so we will also decline your suggestion. Thanks for your understanding! 1
