game stuck on running in steam after exiting game

Heyo there @alexhob123

 

First of all, welcome to TruckersMP Forums here at Help section. 

 

According your issue please have you tried to verify of ingame files? If not please do following: 

 

 

Go to Steam - Games - Right click ETS2 - Properties - Local files - choose verify integrity of in-game files and wait till finish. 

 

Then start singleplayer throught your Steam client with DirectX - load your profile, go to ingame - make a new save - close the game. 

 

 

Start Multiplayer Launcher as an administrator and run the game.

 

2. Solution

 

  • Close steam.

 

  • Open the task manager, and end any remaining steam tasks. I had some in the background processes section.

 

  • Relaunch steam

 

  •  Navigate to the game that was causing an issue. It'll still say it's running, so click the dropdown arrow and tell steam to close it.

This includes programs like Razer Cortex, CCleaner, any PC optimizing program that detects game files, many antivirus/antimalware services/programs, anti-cheat services, and the list goes on.
