Why did you start playing ETS2?

Thought this could be a fun topic to talk about. Why did you decide to start playing ETS2?

 

I'll start it off.

I've been a fan of trucking and driving games for a long time. My first ever driving game was 'Hard Truck 2: King of the Road' and this is where my love of trucking and driving really started. Ever since then I've been playing these types of games and also found a love for racing games as well.
After some time I was browsing some 'questionable' sites and I found ETS2. I played it for quite some time, and after a while I finally decided to buy it on Steam. Since that time I've racked up almost 1600 hours. And the hours will continue to go up, especially with the great new updates.

I actually did not know that ETS existed until I got it gifted on my 11th Birthday by my parents. I then started playing SP on an old laptop and with a used steering wheel with a very small turning angle.

I never had anything to do with Simulation or Trucks or anything but for some reason I found some weird interest in this game and kept playing.

A few years later, I heard about TMP and wanted to try it out since SP had become pretty boring for me. I instantly felt welcome and this community and just kept playing more and more.

By now I have gathered almost 1250 hours in this game with more to come hopefully.

When I was a child and didn't have a computer, I spent countless hours playing truck games on my phone. Those simple yet captivating games sparked my passion for trucks and transportation. As I grew older, I dreamed of owning a powerful computer that would allow me to explore more complex and realistic games.

One day, my dream came true. I managed to buy a decent computer capable of running high-quality games. With excitement, I began searching the internet for truck games, eager to find something that would offer an authentic and engaging experience. After a few searches, I came across Euro Truck Simulator 2 (ETS2) among the top recommended results.

From the moment I started playing ETS2, I was captivated by its realism and attention to detail.

My friend recommend this game and then I purchased it. After installing it I really liked this game. So I played ETS2 since 2018.

I saw my brother playing it years ago and got interested in it, since driving is one of my biggest interests out of everything else.

 

Now I have 1'135 hours clocked on ETS2.

I really like to drive while listening to music. Among the simulation games, this truck game was decently the most realistic. After starting, I joined the VTCs, and now I have 2892 hours of playing time xd

For my part, I started playing ETS2 since a few years ago I fell in love with simulation games, following that, I discovered by some videos posted on the internet, that there was an online mode which is where we are now. Years and years played on TruckersMP servers with a lot of joy and fun.

There are several reasons why I play ETS2. First of all, I think it's a good activity to relieve stress and relax. It relaxes me to make long journeys, to drive calmly with the scenery. Also, the game's realistic physics engine and detailed graphics draw me into the game and I enjoy it. Also, customizing my own vehicle by trying different trucks and equipment is an enjoyable experience for me. Finally, playing together with my friends in multiplayer keeps me in the game as a social activity. For these reasons, I enjoy playing ETS2. ^^

About 8 years ago,I saw someone playing it in a net-bar which made me curious.Then I played a pirated ETS2(Chinese ver.)When I studied in colleage,I bought it on steam,loving it forever.

When I was driving the truck the whole transportation experience was a peaceful journey, driving the truck on the highway, it was peaceful, listening to the car radio, it made people think about the problem.  Works such as flight simulation, the plane flies into the sky on autopilot, the brush or brush the mobile phone, it may lack such experience, so the feeling that the Euro Truck Simulator 2 gives me is that the traffic experience is real, the Euro Truck Simulator 2 map is more complex, you not only have to consider the speed limit, but also consider the left and right side driving (UK), fuel consumption and fatigue, customs inspection, train ferries, etc.  Basically restore the truck driver's driving routine, and will not make the journey seem boring

This love for cars is innate in us. After all, we are boys. We played a lot of car games, we grew up a little, but... The game that will appeal to our age is ETS2. It is still played by people of all ages. I was watching ETS2 on YouTube videos. The game looked really nice. It caught my attention with its graphics. But most importantly, I wanted to use the game with TruckersMP. It's great fun to play this game with other players.

Since the field I studied at the university was Logistics, I have always been very interested in transport works.

Used to play ETS2 and ATS because of an interest in trucks. In 2018, I was watching a streamer play it and wanted to join in the driving. Then I got into VTCs and the social side of TMP. Now, over 1.5K hours with a one and a half year break in 2022.

When I was a kid, when I didn't have a computer (2013), a close friend of mine was playing on his computer, when I went to his house, I started playing ETS 2 at every opportunity and I liked it very much, then I bought a computer myself and started playing the game, the first game I downloaded and the first game I owned was ETS2

What a good question.  

I started playing because of some videos on youtube at the time.
Then I bought the game and started playing with the keyboard, I remember it like it was yesterday.
Then I upgraded the graphics and started playing with the PS3 controller.
From then on it was just spending money on DLCs and they gave me the steering wheel, well, I loved it.
Nowadays, it's my game of choice, it's the game that when I have a personal problem, I go to euro truck to relax.
 

Many more years in ETS and ATS.

Pretty simple answer...I love trucks, I couldn't drive them anymore so I bought ETS2 to drive them again.  My near 5,000 hours should prove this now lol

For me is the same too, ive always played driving games since i was little back on PS2 with Gran Turismo, ETS 2 for me is just the perfect driving simulator it makes you feel like a real trucker and with how the physics improved overtime and the new content added it just doesnt make you tired, it gets always better and better

In my case, it's been exactly ten years so far, I started playing ETS2 ten years ago and fell in love with the simulation game, and later on, I played on the TruckersMP server for 7 years, a CD road filled with joy and fun.
