Suggestion Name: special transport escort van/ Vito/ sprinter/

Suggestion Description: Add a Vito/ sprinter/ or any van or car with Convoi Exceptionnel , Orange LED gril flashing lights and a LED Bar on the roof. Yellow car and on the back: Convoi exceptionnel

Any example images1316002-vito-mercedesbenz.jpg

Why should it be added?: I miss when we transport huge machines or heavy machines a GOOD escort van. I know we got the skoda but here in the Netherlands we only have vans that are always yellow with stickers on them: Convoi exceptionnel. And mayby more people will buy Patron to use this car ?

Not sure about this... There are too many different vehicles and "skins" as pilot services around Europe, even a same pilot cars company may have different ones, I've seen vans, cars, yellow paint, white  paint and so on. Being a patrons only vehicle would make it worse, because other patrons could ask for their own favourite or their country's most common model/color and they'd have an unrefusable right: They pay the same as the Dutch patrons, why a Dutch vehicle and not a French, German, Swedish, etc.?

Of course, it could be done as "it is what it is", same as there is a Scout car, based on Skoda and no other "fixed" cars based on other brands, but... Scout is an "everyone's" vehicle, no one pays for it, so it's easier to justify it.

The only way I see that this could work, without later fuss, would be by selecting a number of different options, like cars, small vans, bigger vans, different skin designs and open a poll only open to patrons, so the most voted vehicle could be implemented. Something like with the alternating vehicle but for one specific style that would be permanent.

However, and being completely honest, I don't see the need for this kind of vehicles at all, since the only oversized trailers in the game are those in Special Transport DLC and they are not supported in TruckersMP...

@FernandoCR

yes okay, about the implementation can of course be adjusted. Then it is best like the skoda natural Pilot skin. But the beauty would still be a bus with strobes on the front and on the back with a flashing light beam. There are people who don't like this. But I would love this to drive behind or in front of trucks with large or heavy transport

Hey there trucker!

First i would like to thank you for taking time to bring up a great suggestion like this.

I would love to see another alternative than the Scout, because that would perhaps be used as a more realistic vehicle for escorting larger transportings.

However i am not really sure that we would actually get one, as we already have seen, the official Event team has a VW Crafter as a new alternative vehicle.

I think that one could perhaps go public, instead of being only used by them, as it would make more sense because in the real world, we are using either a VW Crafter as the escorting van, or a Mercedes Vito/Sprinter.

I am not open to this sort of idea at the moment and let me explain myself why. Currently on Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator we already have the small four door vehicle called the skoda which has the same accessories as the ones you speak of. Various players use this vehicle for multiple purposes as in driving normal and completing job. Others use this vehicle as a way to cause chaos on the roads towards other truck drivers. Having this sort of vehicle added into the server is nothing more then adding a large escort vehicle from the skoda to a vehicle of this size. Players can still cause issues with it and still break various server rules. However I am not saying that ALL players would use this as a means of causing chaos but there are some out there willing to test the limits.

That's the reason i want it only for Patreons. And it is just an idea. I dont care if its a other van or other livery. Its just a suggestion and i hope they wil add something like this ?

What I would support is using the already in-game available AI VW T6 vans used for the escort or adding more features for the available Scout Superb sedan, such as a special transport paintjob patreon-only and an LED board showing an exclamation mark with the text "oversize transport" on it, that can be turned off using the regular beacons on/off button.

I did know there is some kind of volkswagen T6 with pilot skin and beacons from SCS used by tmp staff during big events like " Real Operation " but im not sure if we can have it ... And if we can have it , putting a user restriction on it like for the TMP staff or Patreon AI

Hey @Erik_NL,

Thank you for creating this suggestion! Unfortunately, we have decided to decline this suggestion due to the following reason(s):

  • The Convoi Exceptionnel feature is not supported.
  • This type of van is used by our Event Team.

Kind regards,
