Popular Post marco6158 Posted May 4, 2022 Popular Post Report Posted May 4, 2022 Hello truckers! We come to you with big news regarding the way we issue bans. Following a long internal discussion and having taken into consideration a number of factors, some rather large changes will be made to rule §2.8 - How bans are issued. As of 4th May 2022, permanent bans due to history will no longer be issued. This means that rule §2.8 - How bans are issued has been updated, and is now written as follows: §2.8 - How bans are issued The first 3 bans are issued at the staff member’s discretion. The 4th ban is thirty days. The 5th ban and consecutive bans are ninety days. Any bans older than 12 months at the time of the new ban being issued are ignored, this 12 month period is the ban cooling-off period. Ban extensions are based on the active (less than 12 months old) bans at the time of expiration and will not be altered if a ban goes over the 12 month period while the ban is active. If you have at least two active history bans in your ban history, staff will extend your next ban to ninety days, regardless of how many bans you have had in the last year. Bans that are extended due to history cannot be reduced, they are strictly thirty days and ninety days. To clarify; if you accumulate 5 or more bans in a 12-month period, all bans starting at your fifth ban will be set to ninety days automatically. This means that your sixth, seventh, etc. ban in a 12-month period will also be set to ninety days. However, this change only applies to bans that are permanent due to history, not due to hacking, ban evading, or other rule violations that can result in a permanent ban. We understand that this rule change could leave you with certain doubts or seeking clarification. Therefore, below you can find some common questions and answers regarding these changes: Will bans previously issued due to history be disabled? Yes. Through an automated process, we will be disabling previously issued permanent bans extended due to history. My permanent ban was not disabled, why? As we are working with a large number of bans, there is always a chance that certain bans could be missed during the mass removal process. In case that applies to you, we invite you to contact us via the appeal system. Will other types of permanent bans also be disabled? No. At this time we are only modifying rule §2.8, meaning that only permanent bans due to history are affected by this rule change. All other permanent bans will remain in place (hacking, ban evading, etc). What will happen if I was recently permanently banned? If you were permanently banned within the last 90 days, your ban will be modified to expire 90 days from the day it was issued. Please note that these bans will not be disabled immediately, like older permanent bans. Will other types of permanent bans continue to be issued? Yes. As this change only affects rule §2.8, there will be no change to the way other types of permanent bans are issued. We understand that people's behaviour and attitudes towards rules can change over time, so we want to give those who have made mistakes in the past another chance to drive on TruckersMP. With these changes, we look forward to welcoming back some former players to our servers. Guest - Pink Ribbon - Posted May 4, 2022 Report Posted May 4, 2022 Not a fan, 3 month bans for consistent rule breaking. People who actually enjoy playing feared getting bans especially a permanent as that was it, now it's just liquified to 3 months then you're back. Also you should work on your "automated" system of ban evaders as there is still one I know of who has been on their new account for nearly a week now after a permanent ban and all they changed was 1 letter in their name. If 1 letter change can fool your system then it needs improving.
Guest Posted May 4, 2022 Report Posted May 4, 2022 Well I guess no unban for me.. goodbye TruckersMP forever ...
Guest Posted May 4, 2022 Report Posted May 4, 2022 I hope Truckersmp can change the rules for circumventing the ban. If I'm permanently banned, will I never get a chance to play again in my life?
ParticleFlight Posted May 4, 2022 Report Posted May 4, 2022 Dont think this will go well just seems like all the trolls are being let back in 4 1
Guest Posted May 4, 2022 Report Posted May 4, 2022 The new rule update is good, but I hope you can continue to abide by the rules
Elih. Posted May 4, 2022 Report Posted May 4, 2022 Nice update. Thanks for the information. 1 Kind Regards Elih. TruckersMP Retired Team Member

JCBBuilds Posted May 4, 2022 Report Posted May 4, 2022 Some nice changes but not sure I'm a big fan of the Rule 2.8 change as I feel that's going to allow more trolls but I guess we'll have to wait and see. 2 JCBBuilds Owner of Night's Truckstyling Discord discord.gg/6h5pS5RbE5
Aligatoor Posted May 4, 2022 Report Posted May 4, 2022 Well, it seems to be all right. It's hard to say, we'll have to wait some time and see what changes in general. FernandoCR [ESP] Posted May 4, 2022 Report Posted May 4, 2022 The only good thing I see in this change is that now there's no "5th ban in a year will be permanent", so people who have been banned 4 times won't be as scared as before, so there's a bigger chance that they will get the 3 months "vacation". Less trolls in the servers in the mid/long term, as long as the ban-evaders "radar" works correctly. 1 4
Chemistry_TMP Posted May 4, 2022 Report Posted May 4, 2022 Nice, I hope players don't abuse. 1 1 Chemistry_TMP TeamAudi Project Manager
Constable B Posted May 4, 2022 Report Posted May 4, 2022 So, this essentially means that someone can get banned as many times as they like and it'll never become permanent. Just extensions of 90 days every time they break rules again? If someone is breaking the rules so frequently as to get banned 5 times within a year then do they not deserve a permanent ban? They're directly impacting rule-abiding players' experience just because they can't adhere to the very common sense rules. 1 2
Popular Post Welshie Posted May 4, 2022 Popular Post Report Posted May 4, 2022 This is utterly disgusting. Allowing those who are repeat offenders to now come back into the community, A community that abides by rules, rules that they have clearly given no to attention to in the past is ridiculous. This is utterly deplorable and I sincerely hope the TMP team rethinks the move to let those who have been Perma Banned back into the community. If they have been banned for history then it is clear they cannot follow the community rules, which the vast majority of us have managed to do, for years in some of our cases. Genuinely utterly disgusted and in disbelief that anyone in the staff team thinks this is a good idea. #inb4thiscommentgetsdeleted 2 18

NexusMEISTER Posted May 4, 2022 Report Posted May 4, 2022 Thanks for the information. At a first look, I had some doubts about whether certain rule breakers can be rehabilitated or not. Some of them never deserve to be back on the servers. A majority of them are willing to learn from their mistakes and improve their behavior. The changes to rule 2.8 are not bad at all. 90 days = 3 months - still a pretty long period of time. Every change is meant to improve the player's experience in the game. Only time will tell if it has a benefit and I frankly believe that it would have in the long-term. As FlightFan said, the next few weeks are essential. I hope that no one will abuse this (the ban evading system should be set in full-force) and hope that every player will respect the TMP rules they agreed to. BloodHaven Posted May 4, 2022 Report Posted May 4, 2022 3 months again? What a contradiction, I think it's a bad idea.

Keep in mind that 3 months is a considerable amount of time to deny access to a game server. It is a heavy punishment that discourages repeat offenders while allowing them to improve their behaviour in the long term. Thanks to the efficiency of our report system, repeat offenders are often quickly caught before they can cause further harm to others. Additionally, if a user is truly unfit to play the game on our servers, durations may be overruled through the enforcement of rule §2.9 or §5.2. Moreover, our experience in player management has taught us that some players do indeed change their behaviour over time. 1 8 2

Fast-rider Posted May 4, 2022 Report Posted May 4, 2022 I want to be honest: I think that it is a good opportunity for perma banned people because of their active bans to prove that they have changed. However I have a bad feeling that more trolls will be on the server because they don’t change. Let‘s see how it will be since that is always a feeling
TruckersLife Posted May 4, 2022 Report Posted May 4, 2022 That's good decision taken by staff player can learn from the mistake and i hope they will obey the rules and take it seriously. 90 days is enough to learn there mistake. I agree with the changes in the rules 2.8. Thanks 1
