Ulog
Greetings! I'd like to have your opinion about this idea. Indeed, servers are named "Simulation". So why not apply real rules on these servers, including official speed limits ... Feel free to share your opinion below
Interstate Nomad
The good news is, that you are free to apply real world road traffic rules whenever you feel like! Most of them are considered in the TruckersMP rules already. So if you want to follow real world speed limits, just go for it - they are shown on your GPS navigation map. Drive safely ! ElYefer20 [COL] :3
My opinion is reflected in the fact that some players get stressed from going so slow, even if their server says their realistic name, but I say that the limiter that we have at the moment is very good, also for those there are real loads so you can go 90 km / h, Your idea is still very good. ash.exe
It makes driving a lot more realistic and safe as trucks in the EU are usually speed limited to 90kmh or 56mph. However, a lot of drivers would have this option switched off. It would be a dream to see a simulation server speed limited to 56mph instead of 68mph. Signore_Derin
İn my opinion, 90km is the most approprite speed for a truck. At the same time, we can see the environment, but some people can turn it into need for speed.
Bangshuai6
It makes driving a lot more realistic and safe,90km/h is the safest speed
Featured Comment Coolio85 Posted December 9, 2021 Featured Comment Share Posted December 9, 2021 Hey! Thanks for creating this topic as it is certainly an interesting one! We receive a lot of suggestions and sometimes complaints about our choice of the speed limit. You can read this article here if you wish to learn more about our current server types and speed limits https://truckersmp.com/knowledge-base/article/574. Whilst you are of course free to discuss this, at this time we will not be changing the speed limit as after constant review, it was decided to be the most effective limit. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out to us via feedback!
Doñ Cheeki
Hi, the current TruckersMP Rules about Driving, Traffic Law etc. are pretty similar as the Real Life Rules but the part with Official speed limits is a thing which SCS Base Game already has. Truck speed limiter - - Disables the ability to drive faster than 90 km/h. Traffic offense - - Gives you a Ticket every time you're driving faster than the Official speed limit. To make it more realistic, it's a good alternative to enable these two too. To make it perfect, it's good to enable the Fatigue simulation for the perfect touch. If you want to enable these, I will provide two Screenshots down below how to do it. [TPH] Nicz
Good idea about this and looking forward for your suggestion. I hope this will help and implement and take some time to take the view on TMP.
n0feaR.
Hello, In my opinion this speed limit should be in every server except Arcade, because this game is simulator and the official speed limit for trucks in Europe is 90 km/h. Greetings, n0feaR. Veteran Driver IV
Guest
I think this could be a very good thing ! After all, the goal of this game is based on the simulation of driving a truck, and we are talking about simulation here, as well as the name of the TMP servers, so why not apply this limitation on the servers that have the name "Simulation"? Because in reality, a truck driving at 110 km/h does not reflect simulation in any way... And if some players don't like it, they can choose the Arcade server which allows much more. P h o e n i x
While I would definitely find the limiter being at 90km/h the most realistic and may have some benefits, i'm somewhat split on it because 100km/h+ on a motorway with nobody else around (e.g driving in the DLC areas) also isn't an unreasonable speed 99% of the time. .Tony
Hello My suggestion is the same as theirs. I also think 90km is the safest speed, but some people don't adapt to this speed, so many people choose to overtake, which is also the most common accident on CD road. Kind regards, Tony.Stark
_europeantrucks_
people who really cant drive will crash at 90kmh too... first i thought 110 is too much but come on, real trucks can accelerate to 110 in reallife if they dont have that virgin limiter. Da n R O
My opinion is that on simulation servers trucks should be limited at 90 km/h, but cars not, because it's not realistic that cars can't overtake trucks
CaptainCat.
i got my truck limited to 90kmh, as it makes it more realistic.. but for cars it's very slow, they keep failing to overtake because 90kmh or 110kmh is not a very very big difrence! MrSirViking
I have always said we should have a 90km/h speed limit on all servers except arcade servers. Just like in real life. And in a lot of countries you cant even drive 90km/h, at least not here in Europe. In Denmark the highway limit for trucks is 80km/h. No where in Denmark are they allowed to drive 90km/h. So i feel that 90km/h is a fair. But i dont make the rules, i just follow them and enforce them.
Interstate Nomad
It is true that passenger vehicles are usually not bound to a speed limit meant for trucks, respectively vehicles of another weight category. But how can this need be addressed and satisfied on the simulation servers? Is it technically possible to lift the speed limit restrictions for passenger vehicles only, but at the same time configure them as collision-free? What would such a configuration mean for the realism aspect? Would they be respected the same by others as if they were not collision-free? Just thinking aloud. [C-S] Bartolomeo[PL]
In my opinion, inexperienced drivers will crash even though the number of accidents and bumps should decrease rapidly (entering a corner at a speed of 90 km / h and 110 km / g makes a difference). You could also think about lowering the engine power in some trucks, which would increase road safety a bit, but I generally support this idea

True realism is impossible. Human is a stupid animal who tries to break all the rules in the virtual world. Often very carelessly.
