ZabbeX Posted March 24, 2021 Share Posted March 24, 2021 From a video I saw before, they are called french fries because some people that ate those fries were in a place in Belgium near France and they thought they were in actual France, but not really and so they have that name now. Both nations claim to have invented them. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_fries#Belgium_and_the_Netherlands I don't care much about their origin and call them fries.
