freez and crash when trying to change color of player tag

Hi,
In the multiplayer settings I've setup my player tag to "Viva Trucking", which is my VTC and this worked fine. But if I click on the (blue) square to change the color of the player tag, the game freezes and quits after a couple of seconds. A bug report is then sent. Do you have a solution for this?

This is a common issue and I have not found any proper fix yet. You can get around it by changing the tag manually in `Documents > ETS2MP > config.txt`. Look for "tag color", there you can insert the colour you want in decimal code. You can find the RGB code of the colour you like here: https://www.google.com/search?q=color+picker

and then convert it to decimal here: https://www.checkyourmath.com/convert/color/rgb_decimal.php (or a similar website)

I can confirm that this is a known bug for some users. Unfortunately, this is a known bug and the only way to change the color of your tag would be to change it in your config.txt. More regarding that can be found in the comment which is above mine. 

Were you able to change your Tag color and has your problem been solved with that?

Thank you very much for your help. Unfortunately in the config is not such a thing like tag color. The word "Tag" doesn't exist at all and searching for "colour" or "color" doesn't show anything which seems to be a decimal value for a colour. Is it possible, that it is not written in the config because this is an issue from TMP and not from SCS Truck Simulator?

I'm guessing you went to the Euro Truck Simulator 2 folder, which is in Documents > Euro Truck Simulator 2. What you want is the ETS2MP folder: Documents > ETS2MP. Both folders have a config file in them.

Hello there,

 

It seems like you're currently running the game in OpenGL mode, we need to change it to DirectX 11 instead  
Below you can see how to do that  

1. go to steam and find the game in your library
2. Click 'Launch'
3. Select Launch with DirectX11 (64-bit) -> https://gyazo.com/ce5ff242481a7f2a93be4e4cb6becdcb
4. Click play
5. Load your profile and drive a short distance.
6. Save your game, and close singleplayer
7. Run MP again, try changing your colour, and see if your issue has been resolved.

Now, if it doesn't help, try with a reinstall of the TMP launcher by following the below instructions:

 

1. Press the Windows Key + R (Win+R) on your keyboard
2. Enter "%programdata%" and press Enter (without the quotes (""))
3. Find the folder "TruckersMP" and delete that folder.
4. Navigate to C:\Program Files\ and delete the folder named "TruckersMP Launcher"
5. Navigate to C:\Documents\ and delete the folders named "ETS2MP" and "ATSMP"
6. Go to our website and re-download and install the Launcher with admin privileges https://truckersmp.com/download/

 

When installing the TruckersMP launcher, keep the launcher on your C drive, don't install it to a different drive (If you do, you can risk experiencing many different problems/errors)

On the first picture you'll see 'Select Destination Location'. This is where to install the TruckersMP launcher.
I advise you not to touch it  

 

Then just finish the install and see whether your problem has been solved or not
