  1. I am a 120kph long distance driver. I think 120kph is the best speed for me to remain safety while enjoying driving. update : It was the speed limiter being turned on in some updates that made think the speed limit reduced again. 1. At 120kph player have more intensive feedback and interaction with the game. You have to watch the road and control the speed, while at 90kph you can safely drive through most winding roads. Also at 120, your brain receives more information at a time, which stimulate your brain to be active. It's very very easy to get sleepy at 90, because the scenery repeats, and you have nothing more than one thumb to use during driving (controller). 2. I used to drive 1800-2000 km before getting tired, but as the speed limit dropped 110, I could only do 1200-1500km and now at speed of 90, 1000km is my maximum range. There is less fun when the mileage decreases. 3. At a maximum speed limit of 120, you re able to choose to overtake people, or be overtaken. This add more participation to the game where you have to watch the mirrors, keep driving strictly in the lane, use your high beam and whistle. Further, due to speed difference, you can meet people on the road, group up and make friends. At 90, everyone keeps a certain distance forever. 4. A wide speed range provide different choices for trucks. The 8*4 truck accelerates slow but is much more steady at high speeds, and has a great brake force. If the speed is limited to 90, whats the point of choosing 8*4 trucks. 5. about ramming. Many players suffer from ramming including me. Now the administrators seemed to find a good way to reduce this - limiting the speed. For a better understanding, let me take an example. Do you think banning all games with blood, sex and violence is a good solution for all? Here I provide some ideas. First, new players should have a certain online mileage of probation period during which he should not get a ban. The probation period can be set in a separate server or in the normal servers. Second, making the online report effective. If most online reports become operative on that day, the rammers will be more cautious. I know there must be objections, so I dont appeal to raise the speed limit to 120. I just suggest you put the Arcade server to the top and set it to 4500 people max.
  2. Hey peeps! I was discussing speeding and fines with a friend when this thought popped up in my head. How many people are aware that their car speedometers do not quite show the real speed? They're designed to show speed slightly faster than the speed you're actually driving to stay on the safer side, so to say. It would be very questionable situation, if you ended up getting a speeding ticket because of the inaccuracy of your car's speedometer, and hence they are rather made inaccurate by making them show faster speed than real speed. How inaccurate the speedometer is varies between car models and brands, some speedometers have next to no difference to real speed, some can lie as much as 5 km/h (~3 mph) or more. While two cars are driving the speed limit according to their speedometer, one may be going a little faster than the other. Due to this it's beneficial that you check how inaccurate your speedometer is. It can be done using a GPS device, for example your phone or satnav. Just make sure the signal is good, so you can get trustworthy readings. Once you memorize how inaccurate your speedometer is, you can easily compensate that. You may argue that you wouldn't trust GPS, but modern day global positioning system and devices that use it are very accurate, frighteningly so. I'm sure many of you had heard of this before, given that people reading these forums have an interest in vehicles. This is just to satisfy my seemingly endless curiosity. Do you think that this is an utter lie or conspiracy to get you a speeding fine? Are you frustrated that people can't even drive as fast as allowed? Be my guest and discuss it!
  3. Hello, I need some help here: All my trucks are very slow. Sometimes I can't go faster than 90 km/h and some other times I can't go faster than 97 km/h, like if it was my speed limit. Only on a few times I can go faster than 97 km/h, but now my maximum speed seems like 120 km/h instead of the 150 km/h, what it should be on Europe 2. This occurs with all of my trucks: DAF, MAN, VOLVO, SCANIA, RENAULT. The "speed limit option" on menu is alredy unchecked. I've alredy tried to modify the "config" file on Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2 (put uset g_use_speed_limiter "1" to uset g_use_speed_limiter "0") but nothing works. Even the "speed limit option" on ETS2MP is unchecked, but I'm still slow. (and I'm not talking about World Of Trucks loads, which speed limit is 90 km/h) It seems like on ETS2 Offline the problem doesn't occurs. Anyone can help me?
  4. euro Truck simulator, Formula 1, Rally, Fifa. All of this games have a specific purpose: simulation, racing, football. I suggest a 97 kmph speed limit, for all servers. There is no reason to have a higher speed limit than this, because we are talking about trucking, and in gaming simulation you have no idea who can drive and who can not. A convoy must have a 75kmph top, to consider it professional convoy. With 97kmph, you will close the 10 game km gap, within 35 seconds Most of the verbal abuse on chat, is because of high speed. Most of accidents have a speed reason. It is obvious that if a player wishes a high speed, he wishes for a racing game not a truck simulation. I think the basic idea is education, and you can do it by limiting the speed to 97kmph, specially for the youngest, which eventually, will want to drive in real life. I think most of the community issues will be solved with this.

  7. Hi, I have a problem where the car is limited to like 48 km/h and only goes up when I press the shift key to adjust the shift up, trucks work fine and can go at the highest speed, it's only cars. If anyone knows how to fix this it would be helpful if you could tell me! Thanks,
  8. I like to have a speed limit but 90km/h sometimes is too slow and I want to increase it to something like 100/110km/h. is it possible? How?

    Speed Limiter

Is on some server speed limiter is removed?
  10. Hey , it would amuse me to become a police officer and to maintain order and the speed limit (lol) in the city. It takes something special to be? Because when I bought it they tell me I can not ..: / I think that would be something good to replace some radars that are not so much their work except once every 500 miles.

  12. So, anyhow, what my problem is when I'm driving, and say the speed limit is at 30 mph, my truck with the trailer I was recently hauling was going a mere 18 mph when it was going faster in a 55 mph zone. Now when I got on the Freeway, I tried to reset my own engine too fix the glitch but to no avail. It did however work when I didn't have a trailer but up to a certain point. Is this because I'm on the speed limit server or is it something else altogether? EDIT: Problem solved! Turned out to be me just going on the Europe #1 server.
  13. Is it susposed to be like that, i was driving my truck with cargo more then 90 km/h , now after the update i cant even without cargo, its the same like the "truck speed limiter" option is turned on, but its off, thanks in advance.
