  1. Personally I think its fairly annoying I think we shouldn't say rec. As it gives less purity I think if we are all silent the admins will be able to disclose and kick the person if they are recklessly driving as they may drive cautious for a bit if we say recording yet if we don't say anything they will most likely be quiet.
  2. Hi helpful forum peoples! I'm really struggling to get any decent quality on game recordings. I've only started on TruckersMP about a month and a bit ago and I've started recording snippets after a player deliberately rammed me and blocked my way last month. As I didn't have evidence I couldn't complete the report form. I'm very new to the whole recording gaming thing and I really don't know what's best. A friend recommended Medal and I've tried that. But no matter what settings I use, the videos and associated audio are very jittery. Are there any better services to use? Tech Specs: I'm on a gaming laptop atm, with an Nvidia Geforce 940MX graphics card, 12B RAM and an SSD. Cheers in advance! :)
  3. Whether it is for a montage video or reporting someone who is violating the rules, it can be very useful to be able to record your gameplay in TruckersMP. GUIDE WITH IMAGES In this guide, we will cover: how to use the XBOX recording suite how to change the quality and framerate of the recording how to change the location of the recordings Other useful tips to maximise the usefulness of the tool Requirements: Windows 10 operating system A reasonably powerful system It is important to note that recording gameplay will use additional system resources and therefore on weaker systems may cause noticeable slowdowns in TruckersMP. Most modern systems should be fine, however. XBOX GAME BAR The XBOX game bar (as it is called) can be brought up at any time throughout the Windows 10 operating system (unless you are playing protected content) by pressing the WINDOWS key and the G key simultaneously. A prompt may appear asking whether you want to identify that application as a game, if it does, accept it. The UI should look similar to how it does in the image below. There are some performance metrics, which can be useful to see what the bottleneck in your system is, along with some other features however we are interested in the panel called capture. Using the capture box is one way to start and stop recordings in the XBOX suite. If you press the button with the white circle, a recording will begin, the XBOX game bar will close and a timer will appear in the top right hand area of your screen showing how long you have been recording for. You can then press the stop button when you want to stop recording. Starting recordings with a keyboard shortcut Using the XBOX game bar to start and stop recordings is fine, however it may be difficult and dangerous to attempt to use it whilst driving a truck. Luckily you can easily start and stop a recording using a keyboard shortcut. This may be useful if you spot someone who is breaking the rules and wish to report them, but are not already recording. By default, the keyboard shortcut to start and end recordings is: WINDOWS KEY + ALT + R This keyboard shortcut can be changed using the steps I will show you later and it is even possible to map it to a macro pad or similar device, perhaps a button on a steering wheel. N.B. ALL VIDEOS USED IN TRUCKERSMP REPORTS MUST BE AT LEAST 5 SECONDS LONG OTHERWISE THE REPORT WILL BE INVALID AND DECLINED CHANGING THE QUALITY AND FRAMERATE OF THE RECORDINGS By default, the xbox game bar will record your content at the following settings: At the full resolution of your monitor At 30 frames per second At a “standard” quality (I have found this to be roughly 6.5mbps) These settings are fine for most people and will be sufficient for reports, however if you intend to make a video montage or use the captures for videography purposes I recommend you change these settings to record in 60fps and at a “high quality”. To change these settings, you press the WINDOWS KEY on your keyboard and type “game bar settings” using your keyboard, before pressing enter. Then press the captures button, as shown below. Scroll down to the “recorded video” section and select your desired frame rate and quality from the menus. How to change the location of the recordings By default the recordings will save to the following folder This PC \ Videos \ Captures. This may be fine for some people however often the C:\ drive where the Videos folder is will be smaller and you may wish to store your recordings on another drive, for instance an external hard drive. Go into the Videos folder where the “Captures” folder will be located and right click on the “Captures” folder before selecting “cut”. The “Captures” folder will now turn translucent, but do not panic, your recordings are safe. Now, navigate to your desired location for instance D:\Recordings\TruckersMP Right click again. Press “paste” and a window will pop up telling you the remaining time for the transfer. Once this is complete, the “Captures” folder will have been moved and all past and future recordings will now be in this new location. Using advanced features XBOX game bar also has some more advanced features such as background recording. These features can be useful, however they require lots of system power. Background recording will continually record your gameplay and when you press a certain key combination (by default WINDOWS KEY + ALT + G) it will save the last x minutes of gameplay. You can choose how long it will save in the settings. To enable background recording: open up the game bar settings as shown earlier and select the captures tab before click the slider underneath “background recording”. In the drop down menu, you can select how long you wish your retrospective recordings to be. I would recommend 3 minutes as this will account for longer incidents such as repeated ramming or blocking. Now when you are rammed unexpectedly or reverse a triple trailer successfully (some say it is possible), you can press the key combination and save the last x minutes of gameplay, so you can share it. Changing key combinations The default key mappings of the XBOX Game Bar are easy to remember and access, however you may wish to change them. To do this: - Open the game bar settings as show earlier - Click the game bar button on the side panel - Click the area below the function for which you wish to change the key mapping for. A flashing cursor will appear - Now press your desired key combination, for instance ALT + F - success ! This can be used in combination with software such as Joy2Key to convert buttons on gamepads and steering wheels to your chosen key combination, enabling you to keep your hands on the wheel.

  5. What is Windows Game Bar? Windows Game Bar is a feature implemented by Microsoft. It can for example record the last 30 seconds of the game. This can come in handy for reports. But... ... if you have a slow Computer or a Quadro Graphic Card you might have come around this Error message: You can go around this error message and force Windows to activate Windows GameDVR. But keep in mind that you might lose a few FPS and that the recorded video clip might judder a bit. But for reporting it should be fine. Step 1 - Close all games Step 2 - Download GameDVRConfig Step 3 - Move GameDVR out of your Download folder so you can find it again (e.g. Documents) Step 4 - Run GameDVR_config.exe Step 5 - Select these options: Step 6 - Just close the program there is no save button. Step 7 - Restart your PC (Optional - always worked for me without restarting) Done! In Windows settings, Windows Game Bar is still marked as not supported but it is activated. To further configure Windows Game Bar start ETS and press Win + G. Then go into settings: Click on shortcut so you can change the standard shortcut: If Windows Game Bar still gives you the error message in Game that your computer isn't supported you can try: 1. using the standard Shortcut WIN + G even though it tells you that GameDVR isn't activated. 2. restart your computer and repeat the steps. I hope I could help. Joshua Since English isn't my first language there might be a few spelling or grammatically incorrect sentences in there. Don't be shy to tell me (or PM).
  6. Just thought it would be better to get a clarify here at the forum. If you request a ban and it gets rejected, do you need to have the recording left?
  7. Hey Guys, Just a quick question, As alot of you either Livestream or Local record your driving, i wondered if any of you know how to stop the motion blur on truckers names when recording on xsplit. This happens to me when streaming and local, i don't use high settings when recording. At the moment i stop the rec and restart it but this is not so good when streaming. Any advice would be welcomed. Thanks.
  8. I started having an issue with my recording software (ShadowPlay) since the 14th of January. At first, it didn't look like there was any issues, because the icon and notifications was displaying correctly. When I finished playing, I noticed that it didn't save any videos at all. The 15th, I realized the problem can be reproduced when I Alt+Tab out of ETS 2, regardless of if it's in single player or multiplayer. When I come back in the game, the ShadowPlay status icon is crossed with a red line. After that, I would basically need to restart the game each time (which would be a big pain in the...) I've tried to uninstall NVIDIA GeForce Experience, restart the computer, and reinstall it. And I still have no luck with it. Recordings work fine, until I Alt+Tab out of the game again. I tried to look up for any solutions online, regarding ShadowPlay stops working, ShadowPlay stops when alt tabbing, and I just can't figure out how to fix it. All I remember that I've done was playing ETS 2 (recording worked just fine the 13th), editing and uploading a video. Last software I've installed was over a week ago. I've also had an OS update but that was before the problem occurred. Could it be the OS itself? I have Windows 10 (family), with Fall Creators Update (that I've had for a while already). It can't be because of my settings, because I haven't changed those at all (except when I did a fresh install of GeForce Experience). I wonder if it's on NVIDIA's side, or on my laptop, I have no clue. If you need more information like the specs, here it is: -Model: GL552VW -Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz -Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M (2GB) -Video Card #2: Intel(R) HD Graphics 530 -RAM: 16 GB -Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (build 14393), 64-bit
  9. Since there are a lot of people who are not sure which recording software to use, and the topics about them seem to be pretty much weekly now, I thought that there should be one topic that would include all (well, not all but the most popular ones atleast that alot of people use on this forum) recording software's that you can use on your PC to record your gameplay of American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2, along with all other games as well. The software's below are not in any particular order, as there isn't really any order that you can place them in. I also included if the software is free or not, if not, I have also included the price from the official website. And a link to the official website, where you can look into the software more and possibly buy it/download a trial if you so want. Tutorials on how to set up the software's for the best FPS, quality, etc. can be found on www.youtube.com. 10. Hello, I have tried multiple recording softwares and yet the only one that has actually proven working for me is FRAPS but that takes my FPS down badly. I've been trying to use Shadowplay now but it just wont load in-game. Now, when I first click the TruckersMP desktop shortcut, I see Shadowplay FPS showing on that first screen but when I click "Play ATS" and the game opens, it doesn't show anymore nor will it record. I'm not sure what to do at this point, I need something better that doesn't bog down the FPS. I have tried OBS but it just keeps freezing on me no matter if I have the settings WAY down or settings to where it recommends it to be. Have also tried Plays.TV but that does the same thing as Shadowplay.

  13. Few days ago all my recording in both OBS and AMD Gaming Evolved were perfectly fine. But right now all my replays are totally bugged/broken like here: https://gyazo.com/3e90e93179437cb8cd4426f14c953d62 either I see random photo of a car or I just have black screen. Note: recording other games works perfectly. I also tried to reinstall the game twice already. I would really, really appreciate the solution! Also wanna say sorry if it's a wrong place to do it, I couldn't find better!
