  1. First off, I don't want to put any hate towards the dev team or really any of the team. I've played the mod since the day it came out for ATS and combined between games I probably have over 700 hours in MP. I love the mod and have been thinking about becoming a patron, but I agree with many of the concerns voiced in this thread. I am disappointed by the lack of communication as a whole from this... situation we'll call it. Since the original news post we have heard little to nothing and what we did hear was something mwl4 took time out of his job and development to write. I feel that the news team should have better communication with developers in relaying information. I don't want full length blog posts, I just want a quick sentence every once in awhile like "Hey, we hit a small roadblock, add a day or two to our estimate" or "Well, we found a much easier way to do the part we were dreading, take off a bit of time". Not exactly like that but you get the point. Now onto the development side- I feel like you guys should try to get into contact with SCS about a potential partnership of sorts. If so much of the time is spent reverse engineering to find the source code, having a communication line with SCS to have that code to start with would, in theory, speed up the process a lot. As others have mentioned, without multiplayer much of the ATS/ETS2 playerbase is gone, so it'd be in SCS' best interest to partner. I understand their concerns with doing it themselves and I think you guys have done a great job of getting things generally working as a system, so there isn't a need for SCS to redo it themselves. @BigBahamut /:\GER/:\, you make great points and I agree with most all of what you've said. You're being respectful about it and I think that's a great thing.
  2. To be fair, you've never asked. Obviously nobody is going to spend all day, but a team of 10-15 doing it some of the time could work. Me, and I'm sure at least 10 of your 3 million users would be willing to mess around in the game and find bugs. And with recruitment or whatever, it's practically never open and any development or testing position takes lots of a process. IMO if you're a certain rank or above (like Veteran III or whatever) and go through a quick review process you could be able to test a beta for bugs. Just my opinion, but what do I know about development. (i mean that in a non-sarcastic way btw, i know hardly anything about development) EXACTLY!
  3. Yeah, others' trailers are super low resolution. Also, though my PC is horrible and I typically get some freezes, in SP since 1.36 I have been getting hardly any. In MP I was getting freezes as bad at 1 min+, and horrible framerate regardless. The thing that kills me is that they had an entire month to figure this stuff out, and yet this is still a thing.
  4. It does this in SP as well since 1.36
  5. so now we are saying that people who actually drive realistically and use it as a- dare I say- simulator are just "not good at speeding"? I drive at the speed limit because it's a simulator, not because I can't handle speed.
  6. Also, going 150kph equals no realism. Yet here we are. I agree, but I do propose an idea: Maybe TMP could add a rank of people like game admins, but only to an extent. Not allowed to ban, so no banning everyone, but then there could be a lot more scattered. They could be allowed to give out warnings and have some form of authority over normal players, and if they find anyone who they think (from a professional standpoint) should be banned, they could report it to Game Admins. Also allowed to control traffic, do some more of the traffic managing to take some of the load off of the admins so that they can focus on reports and such. I don't know, this is a lose-lose situation.
  7. Okay, here's my take on all of this: As someone who drives realistic, follows real-life traffic rules (I don't care if the game won't fine you for running stop signs, I am going to stop at stop signs... stuff like that), and drives as if I had a 65mph in ATS or 90kph in ETS2 limiter... I am tired of getting my doors blown off by people with their huge Scanias with windshields full of thingies and technically illegal lights galore who are going 180 down the highway. If you are going to play multiplayer, you are doing so because you want to drive with other people. By driving with other people, you acknowledge that you are supposed to drive nicely around them because they are real people. In SP, you can make a family sedan go flying into the ocean and nobody will care except you. In MP, people are affected by what you do. If you want to go extremely fast, apex corners, throw aggressive blocks, and drive like a maniac, go play a racing game like Forza. TruckersMP exists to make the game more realistic in the sense that you can communicate with other drivers, drivers are (in theory) more realistic than in-game AI, and many other things. I'm just ranting here, but TL;DR: if you want to drive faster than you would be able to in real life and cut people off, go to Arcade or don't bother with multiplayer.
  8. +1 it would help a lot. This most likely won't happen, but maybe the TruckersMP team could hire field workers? Not authorized to ban or kick, but to report problem spots, traffic, direct traffic, etc.
  9. I have a potato PC, and although useful for the 60% of users with good PCs, the other 40% of us will get more lag. Draw distance increased means more strain on the server. The more strain on the server, the slower everyone gets.
  10. Yeah... the game requires 4gb... I'm surprised if you can run it without MP. I'd think it wouldn't let you. But a dedicated graphics card of any sort is better than integrated graphics, just saying.
  11. I have an AMD E2 w/ integrated graphics, don't talk to me about powerful machines. I can run it just fine. What're your specs? @GEB 031 Space (MG)
  12. I still hope we get physics, at least on one server...
  13. ...on what? @Jhoni30 [BR-EN]
  14. I agree on the headlights, low beams are blinding off of the snow. Reflection needs to be fixed.
  15. It's realistic. Most drivers for a company IRL are required by company policy to use their lights 24/7. I know I do in-game, both games. All the time. Also, I have a horrible computer and I have noticed absolutely no fps difference from the winter mod.
  16. @gamenator16 I don't see it... what do you mean?
  17. Awesome! Looks forward to it! By the way, my answer to question number 1 is you should.
  18. Also, if you want to slide around, (I probably shouldn't be saying this even) go into SP and drop your truck from high up into the air a few times until everything is 100% (or at least tires). Then TP to service and repair everything but the tires (by unchecking the box next to "tires"). Then, you slide around, and everything else works. Only gripe is that the truck will always say visit service and 100%. @ThatOvertakenPokeman I honestly hope it's that one...
  19. Now I launch the launcher and try to start ats and it says "Unsupported game version detected". I've uninstalled and redownloaded the launcher, I've run as admin, I've uninstalled and reinstalled ATS, I've tried using public_beta for 1.29, I've tried No Beta. Nothing. It says I am on 1.6.1.9, I am on 1.29.1.1.
  20. Pokeman, making it heavier would cause it to roll more. As it would to make it lighter. The only logical solution is to make the car act like it does have 160/170 Horsepower. Not 600.
  21. Was stuck in a (real life) traffic jam on the Interstate, traffic was at a dead stop for over an hour, and I missed this.
  22. Sadly my Mp thinks I still have 1.6 when I actually have 1.28, and therefore I can't launch. Also going to do something. I hope there will be an NM release convoy, I will def join for that!
  23. If I remember or am not watching the NASCAR race I'll be there
  24. I would like to do some sort of "Virtual Roadside Assistance", like the insurance companies and truck stops do IRL. I would use a Pilot vehicle (with Pilot beacons, this is the closest I can get to one of the real life vehicles). I would help direct traffic (not trying to impersonate any admins, but rather parking off to the side and assisting people through via chat), and pull over behind stopped trucks on the side of the road like they would in real life. Is this allowed by the rules?
