Why does everyone assume that you have no choice but to do it exactly the same way the game does it and just give up? So don't let the fatigue get high enough to cause your screen to go dark. Stop it from rising at that point. This would allow me to have the game's fatigue tracking to tell me when I should sleep without causing any problems to anyone else around me. What is wrong with that?

I would personally love to have this feature available. It feels like an entire section of the simulation in this game is missing without it. It's also sad that it makes several things in the game difficult to get working because they were designed to work with the sleep feature. The idea that this will cause a lot more accidents feels like an assumption not really based on any experience. Just disable it by default and track users that behave badly with it (keep driving into exhaustion multiple times or perhaps at all). I love the time management that this requires of the player as well. +1

I've tried several times over the last few days and I am always getting this error. Would really like to be able to play, but can't seem to find any way to get past this.
