      Hmm, I can't find it in the new Iexplorer, I left school years ago so that's what we used and the old version had DNS settings inside it. Now I can only find proxy settings.

      Also you need to find out if your school is using a software filter (On your school PC's) Or a DNS filter, which stops all blocked traffic coming into the school network full stop.

      If its a software one its harder but still do-able, If its DNS then its stupidly easy if you can find the DNS settings.

      Yeah appoint ConSec to get some reports into the system and make the convoy a bit un-professional , and they think they can do anything including blocking roads so gg, what i can say about rdc well... they are a disgrace

    Anyone here have a solution for Windows Update being stuck on checking for updates? It's been like this for about 3 hours.

     

    I've tried rebooting, cancelling and starting again, installing IE 11, installing a standalone Windows Update update, to no avail.

     

    (Oh, and before you ask, this is a not-so-good laptop that won't run any games, just for exam revision. So unfortunately I'm not back yet)

    Guys, if you don't want Windows 10, turn off automatic updates. I had it on and it upgraded to it all by itself. Seriously. I switched my PC on and it just said "Upgrading Windows". Also, watch the GWX icon as it seems to hand-pick a date out of nowhere for your upgrade. Don't forget, you can roll back to 7/8 as it keeps the old Windows as the Windows.old folder.

     

    At least I was about to upgrade myself. If you don't, then watch out! :o

      @videogamer so does mine but the 12 Volts it uses is to keep system time and CMOS/BIOS settings and also keep the CMOS battery charged

      the only time i disconnect the power supply cable is when i'm working on it be that adding a new part or moving parts around to clean
