^ The g_screenshot_on_bug and g_steam_screenshots are in the default ETS2 Config, he isn't touching the MP files.

The stop to take a screenshot is a hardcoded thing in the multiplayer, there is no way around it other than using external software such as Fraps, like others suggested. EDIT: What does those do exactly?

What is your graphics card, from what I've searched it may be an issue with AMD cards, try updating your graphics drivers.

Which server are you trying to connect to?

This might sound weird but go into ETS2 SP in OpenGL mode, exit, then try in DirectX mode. That will ensure it is running in DirectX mode, then return to MP.

Is there anything in your crash.log? If yes, post it here.

Run your game using the ETS2MP.exe. If it still launches as single player try launching ETS2MP.exe as an administrator.
