You cannot know that but I have asked El1teZombiezHD whether is was allowed to cut corners a little bit. The answer was clear, it isn't allowed but I wasn't able to find a clear and unmissinderstandable definition of what it means that "drastically cutting corners is not allowed".

This word, drastically, bothers me. Who decides what is drastic and what is within the allowed borders?

However, I have found my answer already but this is the point I wanted to mention.

Better I know it before than I will be disqualified after.

I mean, the first few races will be easy as there are still keyboard players in it but later on when only the top notch elite is racing every meter will be taking into account whether it will be a victory or a defeat.

    Kind regards ;)

I would guess that "drastically cutting corners" would be something along the lines of going off-road where possible to cut a corner. Say for example that you are going up or down an exit ramp (like the one at the bridge that goes over Death Road) and instead of simply driving very close to the edge of the road you actually go directly into the grass in an arc instead of a 90º angle turn.

At least that's my understanding/guess. Could you please confirm that for us, @El1teZombiezHD ?

I am a keyboard player but for the racing, I will be using mouse steering because I am not nuts. :P It's impossible to do sharp turns on a keyboard at high speeds. A simple 90º turn requires the speed to be dropped drastically. Many turns will demand big drops in speed if one decides to use keyboard steering, actually. The poor soul who decides to go with that might as well not even leave the start line at all. He/she will not make it to the end. If they do, they'll be last for sure. I use keyboard steering for normal play all the time. I know very well what it takes to drive with a keyboard. It's fine for normal play but really inconvenient when you add in speed.

I know that. What I mean is that it has already been established that the default rules will apply, save for the exceptions that have also been mentioned.

Participants will be able to drive on the incorrect side of the road as it will be a Non-Collisions Server

But regardless of that, why on Earth would you want to ghost drive in a race? What's your logic behind such intention?

  3. Alright, then! Scrap what I said there. I was wrong. The best choice is DEFINITELY a 310 HP Iveco Stralis with a 6x4 chassis and 12-speed gearbox. :troll:

That seems like a good average time, I'd say! It took me about 19 minutes, though I used a slightly different route which apparently is longer. I gotta test my time with the "normal" route.

Speaking of how people will perform on the weekend and disqualifications... hey @El1teZombiezHD ,may I inquire what will happen to those racers who lose connection for whatever reason or their game crash during the event? Will that also disqualify them?

  4. If I may, so far my recommendation is the Volvo FH16 Classic. I am working on that performance test video and so far, the Volvos are the ones who did the best in all cornering tests. I took the Classic for two drives down the race route and it did great, there. (I haven't got to test the Mercedes, Scania R, Volvo FH16 Classic or the DAF Euro 6 for the video, yet.)

  5. Already!? O_o That's an academy record!!

This is the quickest I've ever seen MP be updated. Hahah. I thought it would take at least a day as per usual. Kudos to the devs! :)

  6. That's because ETS2 and ATS just received an update by SCS, though it will be a little while until MP can support these new updates. Since your games updated, the only way you can play MP again until it is updated to support the new versions is by downgrading your games to the latest version MP supports. To do that, you can follow this tutorial:

Follow the instructions and you'll be back online in no time. ;)

  7. I actually like this idea. But the color has to be customizable. Or at least match that of the "player dots" that show on the GPS so the setting you apply to that is also used by the list.

  8. This sounds like fun! I'm in! Hopefully I should be available on the 13th and 14h. Assuming I am selected to be part of the 200 players, of course.

    Two questions, though, @El1teZombiezHD .

1- Is this event going to take place on a server put up exclusively for it or an area of an existing server (such as EU2) will be "closed down" for the event?

2- Are the hours of the event yet to be announced or that's simply not going to be defined? Like, a "just show up on the date" kind of situation?

Oh yes, I am aware of that. I actually mentioned it on a previous post on this same thread. I was just wondering if the part where it says that our truck has to be in the picture also included pictures from the cab or if it has to be an external view of the truck.

  10. Oh no, not X! D: I use that for my hazard lights!

Well, at least it isn't something I'll be pressing all the time. Though now whenever I want to use the hazards, the CB will come on. And when I want to use the CB, the hazards will go on. I am definitely not changing my key for hazards, though. X is simply perfect for me. With Z and C for the indicators, X makes the perfect spot for my hazards. Better get used to this bothersome situation, I guess... -__-

  11. Speaking of taking pictures with our truck in the frame and the "eggs" being visible from it...

Assuming the trucks we gotta find are visible from our cab, even the ones outside of boundaries; are screenshots from our cab valid?

Either way, if I make it to the event, I should be driving this thing:

If I had to guess, I'd say the answers to these questions are something along the lines of:

    - By "selfie" I believe that the OP meant to take a screenshot of the "egg" (the hiding truck) with the Tab list open and your name showing on the screen, just like we did on the ATS anniversary event, recently, in which we had to find admins hidden around the map and take a screenshot of them with Tab open.

    - Yes, absolutely.

    - Again, having Tab open in the screenshot should do the trick just fine.

  13. I speak Portuguese fluently as well as English and for many times I considered applying for the forums and maybe one day get IGA rank or whatever would let me help with the reports. I've been admin on another community for many years until the server closed down back in 2015. I am aware that there are actually quite many Portuguese speakers around here that could really benefit from having an admin who speaks their language to help so I imagine I could be useful. Though every time I consider applying I remember of the big work load I'd most likely have to deal with and it kind of discourages me. I play to relax and have fun. This is a far larger community than the one I administrated back in the day was. I am not sure I'd be able to handle so much stuff. Still, applying is an idea that I still haven't scrapped entirely.

So yeah, there are few Portuguese speakers in the team and the players who are of that language, in their majority, most likely don't speak English or if they do, it's very poorly. Yes, that can be an obstacle when creating reports but, despite not being perfect, Google Translate can help, folks.
