  1. But stay tuned for confirmation on the time of the stream, for I might make it earlier than on Fridays. And of course, do join when it goes live for part 2 of Inherit the Earth: Quest for the Orb!

Follow me on Twitch to not miss the show!
    https://www.twitch.tv/mike_dragon/

  2. I couldn't do it on-stream, but off-stream, with no need to share brain power with commentary and reading chat so all of it can be dedicated to focusing on just the game, I finally made it! I've unlocked event 51 in Melee. I beat this and I get to unlock Final Destination! At last. I've unlocked event 51. I beat this and I get to unlock Final Destination. The only unlockable that left, that I know of, that interests me.

  3. You know what really sucks? Getting copyrighted on YouTube by in-game music of a game you simply recorded yourself playing.

  4. Here's a couple things from last stream:

    1. L-DR@GO

      L-DR@GO

Well, I think it's pumped up for gaming 🤣🤣

  5. Last week I promised, this week I am delivering. Let's play Super Smash Bros. Melee and try to unlock everything that I can!

    https://www.twitch.tv/mike_dragon/

  6. Although I rather play the Amiga version of Inherit the Earth: Quest for the Orb, I'll be switching over to the DOS version for part 2 and onwards. It runs much more smoothly, the audio is louder, you can adjust the volume of the music and make multiple saves.

It also fits better on the screen and the NPCs walk while Rif and his companions do. On the Amiga, if Rif is walking, all moving NPCs stand still until Rif stops moving. The only downside is that if for whatever reason I need to use save states, that will not be possible.

Quick comparison. First two screenshots are the Amiga CD32 version and the second two are the DOS version, all running on RetroArch:

  7. Today we're starting a new long series playthrough! Join me on tonight's Gaming Friday and let's explore the world of Inherit the Earth: Quest for the Orb, a charming point and click adventure from the 90's where you play as a fox in a post-humanity world.

    https://www.twitch.tv/mike_dragon/

  8. I just submitted my CV to a job posting for a home-office position with requirements that match my experiences, with one exception. Doesn't hurt to try, though. Wish me luck, I guess?

  9. Today's stream will be a bit different. Maybe boring at first, but if all goes well, we can play Super Smash Bros. Melee!

  10. My cat on my dad's bed this morning was like:

    "Good meowrning, human."

  11. Unless something keeps me from doing it, tune-in this next Friday for this week's Gaming Friday and let's begin a new long series as we venture through the world of "Inherit The Earth: Quest for the Orb", every Friday at 6 PM (eastern daylight saving time)! Follow me on Twitch to catch it! https://www.twitch.tv/mike_dragon/

  12. Great, as if things weren't already bad enough, now my storage hard drive on my second PC decided it's time to kick the bucket, right when I'm unemployed and broke.

  13. I don't normally post about these, but episode 6 of "Until The Game Over" premiered today and this time it was time for the classic of classics for the SNES to shine: Top Gear!

  14. Help me decide this... Which one should I play for the next long series on my Friday streams? I'll play both, but I need help deciding which one to play first.

    Inherit The Earth: Quest for the Orb, an old but charming point and click adventure for the Amiga CD32 that takes place in a world where humans have gone extinct and animals are now the sentient dominant species and fondly cherish the human race for all the things they taught them;

    Or

Briley Witch Chronicles, a charming brand new Commodore 64 JRPG-style game where you play as a woman in modern times who is transported by an evil spirit to another realm along with your beloved cat Smoky and discovers that Smoky can speak to you in this world and that you may be a powerful witch.

    Here's a trailer of both:

Whichever one is picked will be played starting on this next Friday, on the Gaming Friday over at my Twitch. Follow me to catch it!

  15. Trucking is still on hold but a placeholder for this Wednesday is now live. Let's Smash.

  16. Alright, so I've been back home from my trip since last Saturday but I chose not to stream on Sunday despite being able to. I simply needed rest. But I also got a bunch of stuff piled up that I need to take care of before I can dedicate myself to my streams again (I haven't even unpacked yet!). But soonTM you can expect the return of my weekly livestreams.

Here's a few things I have planned for the Wednesday streams (trucking is still on hold) and the Gaming Friday for as soon as possible in no particular order:
    - Super Smash Bros. for 3DS
    - Evil Dead: Hail to the King (long series)
    - Wolfling (Commodore 64)
    - Lionheart
    - Rise of the Dragon (long series)
    - The Lion King
    - Briley Witch Chronicles (long series)
    - Portal (Commodore 64)
    - Little Runmo
    - Super Mario RPG (emulated Switch remake)
    - Seraphima

There will be other games to come besides those above also, of course, but for now that's what I can remember.

And as always, follow me on Twitch to catch all that and more! https://www.twitch.tv/mike_dragon/

P.S: Have this meme just because:

  17. Confirming to everyone that there won't be a Wednesday stream, Gaming Friday and no Chill Art Sunday on the following dates: 24th, 26th, 29th of November and 1st of December. I'm departing tonight with my dad for his birthday trip and should only return by the 2nd of December so until then, all streams are on hold.

But follow me on Twitch anyway to catch all future streams when I get back! https://www.twitch.tv/mike_dragon/

      Wow!!.

      That's cool

  19. About an hour for today's Chill Art Sunday and a transformer just exploded outside. I've got no power and God knows when it's getting fixed. It's also way too hot and I can't have my fan to help because of it. ;-;

    1. L-DR@GO

      L-DR@GO

      Dang!!!

Hope they fix it soon ..

      They kind of did, but it was already rather later to start the show when I got power back. ;-;

  20. 36°C indoors and somehow I have a cold and a 35°C body temperature, which apparently is borderline too low.

hope you feel better soon, have a cold myself too recently, is annoying 😞

      Hope you are okay 👍

  21. Quick and short rant: After what happened during the last Gaming Friday, along with identical recent events, I am seriously on the brink of giving up livestreaming completely. It's not being worth it and I am losing more than I am gaining. I am not having fun as I am supposed to for doing something that I like. I give this up and I'll be adding yet another item to my list of things I like but was forced to give up. And I am sick of giving up the things I like. It doesn't help my depression and there are only so many things I can give up until I give up the one only thing that cannot be picked back up or recovered in any way once given up and wasted.

Don't know what the hell I am talking about? No problem. Here's the really short VOD of last Friday's short-ended show:

  22. Going back to one of the fun games I tried last Halloween, join me on tonight's show and let's play Wolfling, a brand new indie game for the old Commodore 64!

    https://www.twitch.tv/mike_dragon/

  23. I stopped (for now) trying to figure out that Game Boy game maker and am instead looking into the Scorpion Editor, which is a game maker for Amiga and SEGA Genesis games. It seems a lot more powerful than the GB maker and although I barely did anything, I've already accomplished more in less time with it than I did with the one for Game Boy games.

At the moment I am using a sample game that comes bundled with Scorpion (Amigo The Fox) to learn the program. For now I'm basically just re-skinning the existing game and although I didn't do much yet, I can say I learned a lot so far. This will likely not turn into any game I'll release, but for now I'm looking into a platformer with a generic-looking dragon playable character. Here's some things I got so far (sprites for the described items below are custom made by me):

Meat acts as a power-up (like shrooms in Mario games), rotten meat causes harm, red crystals allow for fire breathing, sparkling yellow crystals give invulnerability for a few seconds and sheep give an extra life (dragons gotta eat!) and when the dragon stomps on certain enemies, the enemy turns into a small puddle of blood because, well... what did you expect when several tons of living fire-breathing weapon of mass destruction lands on your head? lol Golden coins can be collected (dragons love treasure!) and with some squeezing, the dragon can go down or up pipes to access other areas (dragons are big, so literally squeezing is the only way!).

When I can figure out all the essentials, then maybe I may be able to make an actual game of my own. o3o

For now, here's some screenshots of all the stuff I just mentioned above:

    F_E6dZRXEAADGj2?format=png&name=large

    F_E6dZwWEAAIyi0?format=png&name=large

  24. Still studying that Game Boy game maker I found. So far all I got in terms of "progress" is improving the background, but that is the easiest part. lol
