Today's a pretty hot day. 29ºC but the sun is burning like crazy so it feels a lot hotter than it actually is! On my way back from downtown after picking up a computer from a client for maintenance, my car lit up the temperature warning on the dashboard. D: I pulled up immediately to let it cool down and then I noticed the radiator fan wasn't working. I waited a little bit then drove it to the nearest automotive electrician and left it there for repairs. Thankfully it is near my house so I can just walk there to pick it up later. I just hope it won't get expensive. I'm quite short in cash.

Someone went to bed without dinner, that night.

Every time I come on the forums (which is various times a day, every day) I see reports about Death Road (Calais-Duisburg) becoming more and more chaotic so you know what?
Screw that road. Next time I need to do travel between to/from Calais to/from Duisburg, I will re-route my GPS and go around.

Last night I posted this: https://forum.truckersmp.com/index.php?/profile/666-mike-dragon/&status=66803&type=status
I've been calling some stores in my city to look for a 1TB hard drive to replace my dying one (now it's giving me a I/O error, which is worse) and the cheapest one I could find that I can get right away (and by "right away" I simply mean that it's available at the store) is a Western Digital for R$ 330. Online, however, I can get the same HD for R$ 271.90 with fast shipping included. Definitely a much better price but there is one catch: It should take up to 8 days to arrive and I need it for now.
So now I am at a dilemma... Should I pay the absurd price of 330 bucks and get it right away and weep for my savings later every single time I look at my bank details or should I pay the lower online price but in the process, deprive myself from playing any PC games until the HD is here and by consequence, depriving myself of my TMP in-game duties?

If you can deal with waiting, then I'd wait. You never ever know when you suddenly need the money you could've saved, no matter the amount.
Though at least WD is worth it. I have 2 1TB Blacks in my PC, one of which is nearing 6 years old (most of it spent drained in dust) and it's still going strong.
-
Wait mike don't rush into buying it locally :/ in Jamaica it was $15,000 to get one when I was looking to buy one and online I could just pay $6,500 for the same damn thing. -____-"
Who knows you may just get the shipping earlier, or if admin duties is really an issue then you could squeeze it onto your main drive for the 8 days until it arrives. -
Thank you for the suggestions, guys. I didn't reply to any of it earlier but I read them all when you guys posted. In the end I ended up deciding for spending bigger cash and hope I won't regret it later and just go ahead and buy the HD at the local store for R$ 330. Paid more but at least the problems should be solved a lot sooner. Which I believe they have. Gonna post a new status about it, soon.
And by the way, @NoTime4name, Western Digital is the best. All of the WDs I've ever had never failed me (except for one but that was due to a power surge. It was greater than my protections and the drive could take). Can't say the same about the Samsung ones. All of the Samsung hard drives I've ever had failed me within three or four years of use. One of them died in less time than that. :\ But at least none of them exploded.

And here they are.

Such a shame not many will see the paintjob on my DAF XF Euro 6, though. Not many people have the Halloween Paintjobs DLC.

Details about the new MP game mode that have been teased a few days ago:

It's Friday! Friday! Friday!

This is completely unrelated to trucks but I thought I'd share as I have done in the past. A while back I started working on a artwork and I have been recording every bit of it but then I set it aside for a while due to a few other things that got in the way but last night I tackled it again and as I have done in the past, I recorded the progress. :3

Forgive me for the multiple images at once, but this is worth it. XD
Find that comic on this website:
They have tons of hilarious comics that give context to funny gifs.

Current status:
In a car, lost in the UK, being stubborn about only using what I can remember from the World Map to make my way to Grimsby's port to take the Ferry to Scandinavia.
Conclusion: I am not the best at following maps from memory. XD

I believe so, @Hyperspace. That's how "free for the weekend" promotions usually go.

Renault T is finally out after all these years, hm? I think I forgot my hype for it back in 2017.
Oh well. I'll go in-game now and buy one anyway to let it collect dust in the garage for a while, before going back to my beloved Draco Pete.
-
And now, a little motivational message:
-
Today's December the first so the time to put away the Scania, take out the Renault and change the Pete's paintjob has come. All ready to drive through December!
I'm just not quite happy with how the ATS trailer turned out. ATS needs more/better paintjob options for trailer customization. :c

I am really hoping SCS is able to add new trucks to ATS, this year. Soon, preferably. I'm really looking forward to it! Especially the International Lonestar!

For some reason, sometimes I wish Euro Truck Simulator multiplayer existed. I don't know why. :S

So...
My brother have the awful habit of ALWAYS use up all of our bandwidth for his cloud storage programs that are always running 24/7, torrent downloads in the most inappropriate of times, etc., so my connection is always heavily affected (can't even watch YouTube on 1080p or 720p, sometimes when his PC is on) and talk to him about this matter is like talking to a door. Except that the door does what it is supposed to and won't fight back.
So I hid Ultra VNC in his computer on the last time I formatted it to check what exactly he's doing to cause our internet to slow down so much. Occasionally, when it happens, I take my revenge by messing around with his PC by sending commands remotely.
Shortly ago I connected and simply kept Ctrl (and occasionally Shift, instead) pressed while he tried to browse the internet. He got so confused and mad because he thought his keyboard was acting up. He even Googled "My keyboard is nuts" to try and troubleshoot it. lol It was hilarious. XD But of course, there is no real problem. He eventually shut it down and the internet speed went back to normal for me immediately. -
A heavy storm knocked off the power for over an hour. Thankfully it's back, now.

Thanks!
I saw the the announcement. I had 0 plans of going there, anyway. I stopped going there ever since that road ceased being pleasant and quiet to drive through. I'd rather venture through Rotterdam and Europoort. It's surprisingly less stressful. At least there I can, somehow, manage to get through with 0% damage.

I avoid Germany, Netherlands and Belgium all the time, still I went 3 times up and down the road this morning, with 800 people on server it was nice, later I went at 14h +1cet, when server was full, there was traffic jam from gas station down to intersection... I just stay where I feel safe and relaxed, south and east, sometimes north but not that often

@Mike Dragon Just didn't want to see you banned, i only translated it because i wanted to know what the title was as its a funny video....then i was like " oooh thats not good "
-
There is no immediate ban for profanity on the forums but rather a warming. A user is only banned after multiple strikes. Thanks for the reminder, though. I can't find the bloody original (I remember watching it days ago, actually) so something else that is somewhat similar will have to do for now. :\

Check out what I am playing with, right now:
So, context: I got bored.
But seriously... besides feeling a little bored, I have a few motherboard and processors stored in a box and I've been wanting to test them out for a long while. These are parts that were either defective or just too old to still be used for work. These belonged to some of my clients and were discarded for those reasons I just mentioned and I've been hoarding them. Like I said, some of this stuff (I'm talking about the motherboards, now) work like new so throw them away would be a waste. On top of that, I've been wanting to toy around with a Pentium 4 system and Windows 2000 for a while (I also really want to actually build a high-end Pentium III system for myself) so upon finding this Gigabyte GA-VM800PMC motherboard in a box in apparently mint condition, I decided to take it out and test it.
After looking it up online to learn about its specs, processor and RAM support, I sourced a Pentium 4 SL96H clocked at 3.60GHz and a 2GB DDR2 RAM stick from my stashes and put them on the board. Thankfully I also had a Pentium 4 cooler somewhere so I used that. After some cleaning of the RAM, the board beeped, indicating that it, the processor and RAM are alive! I also have a couple IDE hard drives as well as a IDE DVD drive lying around that I've been meaning to test for a long time, so I figured this would also be the perfect opportunity to test them out, so I hooked them up to the motherboard. Since this board supports Windows 2000, I am using that. :3 Though I think the hard drive I chose for this test (A 250GB Samsung) is defective. It's making a few odd noises and Windows is taking an awful long time to install. Well, whatever. I am testing, after all! I'm not done yet, though. Still got some fun ahead of me with this system. :3
I still want a Pentium III IBM Thinkpad, designed for Windows 2000, though.
UPDATE: The hard drive is indeed defective. Got slower and slower until errors finally popped up. The drive was literally burning hot! lol Put in a 40 GB one to find out if that one is also defective or not. I should buy myself a IDE-compatible dock station for testing these drives.

Electronics has come along way, but to revive an old system like that is something that I can relate to. I had (my wife thru most of my old stuff out) several Pentium motherboards & processors that I used & as long as you keep them cooled down, they are tough. Don't know where to find a think pad these day's, that may take some searching for. Love the pic's tho, keep some duct tape handy. lol

Convoy today? I'm ready to roll! Albeit I might be an hour early, I think. '-'
