GTX 970 by Nvidia has some issues with the memory which causes performance issues or total gpu failure under load. If your GPU is running normally, then please answer me the following questions: How many RAM-modules does your computer have nad how many does your fiends computer have? And which type of RAM? (DDR3 or DDR4?) Do you or your friend run some other programs in the background? What about the internet speed/connection/ping? And how about the temperature of your CPU and GPU?

Sometimes your computer fails to connect to the Validation Server, because your internet connection is bad or the validation server is running at maximum. just try again a few times

In some earlier version this happened to me at Trameri as well, but in the current version it happend only once at ITCC.

if you take a look at stats.ets2mp.com, you'll see that around 3pm the server was down. If you take a look on the facebook page as well, you'll see a status from around that time that states that the devs were hot fixing a server-side-problem which caused the "unable to validate game version" error.

Turn down details to low, use 100% scaling (max) and 800*600 Screen-Resolution. Close all background programs. Make sure you have at least 4gb ram in your computer. And make sure that your harddrive is defragmentated and that there is enough space (~10% of complete memory capacity) to make yure the pagefile accesed by windows is running good enough

Yeah, I think it was, because I didn't update ets2 since the update and didn't even select a version branch that is compatible with the mod, even though the installed version was/is compatible with the mod, it kicked it out of the installed [games] list. Might be a steam problem with their installed game validation system But now it works fine again. Thanks for your help

Reinstalled it. Now it is displayed as installed again.

No, I bought the game in a electronics store 2 years ago and acitvated it on steam about a year ago, without any problems. I'm currently reinstalling the game. That will take ages with my bandwidth, but that will be the only chance to get it work again

I have got a problem that does affect my steam libary. Since a few minutes Steam isn't listing ets2 sp as installed. I don't have the chance to start it via libary, only to "install" it. Dou you have the same problem atm?

Known issue that exists a long time. Fix for most of these problems is found, but the minor of these which happen often in full cities, isn't found yet afaik

Set your nvidia-card as default gpu for ets2 in the nvidia system control. and try starting the game again.

Okay, had this problem with an older Version of ets2 about a year ago as well. There's nothing to do against that. Maybe cleaning up and/or defragmenting your harddrive might help.

Do you have to restart your game after autosave (crash)? Your graphics cards looks very slow. (Intel HD Graphics) How about getting some faster notebook graphics? Usually they are available for one or two hundred euros and a pci slot is usually available in every notebook

Maybe because you turned down your graphics settings. Sometimes when you choose (ultra) low settings, you don't see rain(-drops) on your windshield

yep, weather seems synced, can confirm that and rain looks like snow as well

Try ctrl+alt+del, then openig task manager, then opening task manager and then clicking again on the symbol of ets2mp in the taskbar and repeat that two or three times. Either it crashes now or you get the window back.
