    [Excellent-Trans] Speelduur's post in ETS2MP not lauching from desktop icon was marked as the answer   
    If administration dont help, delete the icon on the desktop and follow these options.
     
    - go to the map where ets2mp is installed
    - search for the exe
    - make a shortcut on desktop
    - right click and properties
    - select run as administration
    - save and close
    - run and play
