  1. Yep that's the one however I believe it's main rival ending AO also has a similar system
  2. In all fairness, this may be a good idea. I fly in a flight simulation community which I won't name because of advertising rules however you must take a multiple choice test on the basics of flying and if you pass only then can you connect to the server. A few years ago this was not a thing but was prompted by the creation of MSFS and a massive increase in inexperienced pilots attracted to the community. Players also have the choice of achieving pilot ratings which are named after and reflect the real-life pilot licenses: this is totally voluntary but it means you can go from achieving your ingame PPL all the way to the ATPL which gives you a sense of progression and teaches you the real content of the real exams. Training there is delivered by regions such as Europe etc or virtual airlines: perhaps if this does become something on TMP, then well established and reputable VTC's could hold the responsibility of training truckers who wish to achieve such ratings or licenses thus creating no extra workload on the TruckersMP staff?
  3. It's ironic as since joining TruckersMP I have seen multiple of these so-called 'rec' drivers ploughing down the middle of C-D in their Skoda Scout's causing accidents... And in my experience it is usually those in Skoda's with the 'rec' nickname and what I gather the Skoda's do not have a good reputation here.
  4. Personally, I wish that we wouldn't even need a speed limit and that we could trust everybody to drive responsibly and drive to their abilities. However, from what I have seen since joining this is an unrealistic prospect and a mandatory speed limiter is needed so that the server doesn't descend into chaos. However, I would propose a slightly higher speed limit of 112kmh as it'll allow Brits and others driving in the UK with their cars to reach their speed limit although this opens up the discussion for an even higher speed limit with countries such as France having a 130kmh car speed limit...
  5. Absolutely agree with others in the thread. I bought a Skoda to see what the hype was about and it's almost like a little demon egging you on to drive faster and faster until the physics of the car make you spin out of control. Needless to say I sold the Skoda pretty quick and went back to my DAF: Much more calm and relaxing driving from then on...
  6. I am one of the only people to recommend the DAF in the thread: Slightly cheaper comparative to other brands such as Volvo or Scania whilst delivering a beautiful lorry especially with the facelift the newer DAF's including the newer XF's have received. No matter which DAF you are driving the interior is absolutely stunning: for me, the Volvo interior is revolting and you practically will not be able to force me to buy or enjoy a Volvo truck. The DAF also has reasonable to great power delivery of course depending on which engine and gearbox you choose and I think that the DAF would be great for most new-starter deliveries.
  7. Like most of the other opinions on the thread I believe overhead gantries would look really out of place on the C-D road as it isn't a motorway and frankly I can't see the point of using them on there. Perhaps signs like the one posted two posts above would look better but even then I don't see what they would be used to convey and would add to further FPS issues.
