Hi, I'm a player with nearly 4 years (2 accounts) of trucking experience on TruckersMP.
I want to discuss brakes. I'm driving with a keyboard and a mouse with brake intensity set to max, which helps me avoid crashes. I've recently been getting rec'd and fearing a ban because of "Troll braking". I started playing TruckersMP as a defensive driver with no intentions of trolling, crashing, reckless driving, etc. When coming to an emergency stop, I tried to smooth my braking, but people kept rear-ending me due to overwhelming braking power, lag (idk 37 ms), and probably desync. I even rear-ended a mod car from the stress of getting rear-ended! Over time, I get more anxious about a ban which makes me more vulnerable. People on TruckersMP often never keep their distance, which adds up the stress, I try to ignore it, but a message in the chat about me ends my game, and can't sleep tonight!! I even have a "Keep distance" game tag! Of course, it is the responsibility of the drivers behind me to keep a true distance, but my hard braking will need more distance.
Braking with a mechanical keyboard is something I should've mastered through the nearly 4 years of playing, however, I do admit under rule §1.1 that I'm responsible for the equipment I'm playing. I don't have a lot of money to buy pedals. Lowering brake intensity is a logical thing to do, but I also need to avoid crashes and bans...
What should I do and what do you think? Am I alone or not?
