Absolutely correct - with current traffic patterns that would totally work I thought of that as well, however, when I did browse the library, I didn't find a mirrored version of that asset (would be easiest to implement as it literally takes the same amount of space). That means TMP would have to create and maintain said asset in the long term, at least until base-game France sees a rework. At that point it might just be easier to copypasta a cloverleaf prefab in there. Let's be realistic here - this area of the game isn't really up to current standards anyway, so going cheap and dirty won't even create immersion breaking asset changes.

I like the OP's idea, but I see a problem here: How do you know that a city is full of users, before you connect to the server, i.e. when you already suffer the performance hit? (don't use 3rd party websites, the mod doesn't provide that data to you). Generally, I think that upon connecting you should be able to quicktravel for free to anywhere. Lol what? You do realize that people start new profiles all the time and that low level does not at all equal low skill? And even with zero skill it is totally fine to play on that road as long as you're not acting stupid...

I can't see why adding more paintjobs for that car would be a bad thing.
-
So if rejoining is as easy as you claim it is, then why don't you disconnect, drive past the "troll" while offline and then reconnect?
-
That's just incorrect. A kick is associated with a disconnect from the server. You have to go back to the launchpad to reconnect, which includes reloading the game. This takes a few minutes, depending on the performance of your system in use, the server population and the server being selected to join. Log in to Calais/Duisburg and get immediately kicked because the game engine can't handle loading map and traffic at once? Wait 10min. High ping? Congrats, you now gotta wait 10 min to rejoin No headlights? Congrats, you now gotta wait another 10 min. Got kicked while pulling over due to IRL issues, and didn't move for too long? Congrats, wait another 10 min You drive past one of the xxx barriers to pull over and not block traffic, a mod comes along and kicks you for driving out of boundaries? 10 min. Pulled over, your trailer too close to the road, 'cause you wanna change the radio station real quick you're listening to or because you wanna wait a minute to use /fix? 10 min You get hit by oncoming traffic, end up on the road, a mod kick-teleports all vehicles involved to clear up the road? 10 min. Do you realize how many people are going to be fed up with this, just leave and never come back? Take a wild guess when the convoy game mode was released....(and no, steam users at the same time did not decrease)

Nobody wants to move it. I am talking of blocking as in deleting. Left turns should not be possible at that place, as there is literally zero need to. You can simply join the motorway at another exit by taking a right turn further south. We already talked about that here. There is no need to make a left turn here. Add to that, that you are driving with three trailers, something achievable by save editing only and you could not handle it at that intersection because it is too heavy for your engine to accelerate. You should have driven another way, which you refuse to acknowledge. Let's see what the rules say, shall we? 3.0 [...]If you save edit to create a very long trailer combination but cannot safely handle it, you are liable to be banned for reckless driving and/or blocking and it is recommended that you remove the particular modification(s)[...]

You make up a statement of how complicated it would be to remove that left turn there and when I say this has all been done in the past, you call that unprofessional. Erm yeah.
-
There is no safety in left turns. And you don't need to remove anything. Just add a barrier building to block off the ramp. Job done in 5min. Literally. Then go and edit the config files for the semaphores. Has already been done since they extended the phases of the northern lights and removed the southern lights. Just set the left turn phase to zero. Done.

Busses have been brought to Truckers MP. Why not add a few more trucks?
-
Simply put: No. There should not be a left turn lane at all at this place. Block it off, please. If you were coming from the south, you could have taken a right turn at the intersection further to the south and joined the motorway to the west of Lille and never would've had to wait at any light at all. Let's not make everyone wait even longer at this place. The acceptance of the lights there is already low enough.

Currently inbound (red) and outbound (blue) traffic are crossing lanes at the Calais motorway exit. This leads to the need of lights and consequent queuing. If traffic can be kept constantly flowing in this area, the problem can be eased significantly. Luckily highway engineers got us covered. Replace the Calais exit prefab with a cloverleaf prefab (easy solution) or build one yourself (complicated) or just copypaste one from elsewhere (intermediate). Inbound and outbound traffic are no longer crossing lanes and there's no more need for lights. Traffic just needs to slow down to drive through one of the "leaves" which makes merging easier. It should be discussed whether distributor roads are needed. This minor change solves a lot of the traffic buildup at the Calais intersection as traffic can now flow freely.

Random events can be designed in a way to spawn in specific areas that can be defined on a map (traffic area with a certain tag that corresponds to the random event(s) that should/could happen there). This way events can be customized to happen only in certain areas of the map, where you want them to spawn. A random event will be triggered once the road items are loaded on loading of the map when driving along. The challenge would be to generate a server side system to spawn events when nobody is close and despawn them while nobody is close. My rough assumption would be that such a system needs a lot of work to create - just for the server side generation. A mid-term solution would be to create some smaller featured areas that last for 10 days or so (Friday through Sunday) but not much longer. They get old eventually and are just annoying people. Something simple as a "random" border control checkpoint can be set up quite easily and a constant set of two of them in the Schengen area would be totally enough without being too annoying. If you wanna go further just do some road closures "for maintenance" and close of a motorway between two exits (or create counterflow if you want to be really fancy)

Ok so you want to make life annoying for the majority of people, because a few people do not read the rules? Gotcha. Will take about 3h before all the correct answers are available in some youtube video, forum or elsewhere on the web. And even if you do read the rules and understand them - what makes you think that people do not break them intentionally? Absolutely horrible idea in my book: Generates a lot of work, annoys everybody just like captchas and solves literally nothing.

Thank you for suggesting that I am colorblind. That really made my day. Next time, would you please add some random insult, so I can share with my friends and we all have a laugh? Just "colorblind" doesn't really meet the quality standards for sharing.

Well, then it will be rejected. It's not me raging at blocking users, lmfao.
