  1. Well, I have just got this error now... the SP works fine, but the MP throws up the same error as the OP. Uninstalled game reinstalled game, uninstalled MP mod, redownloaded MP mod, Installed new MP mod, Set MP mod to run as admin, Validated game files for game and mod, tried running in safe mode, DX version, OPENGL version, removed all firewall entrys that relate to game / mod (so they get recreated), turned firewall off completely, So... now at a loss. any further suggestions welcome.
  2. Thanks for the reply. I do not understand the operation of API's , can you give me an example of how it could be used under the outline of the original post please ?
  3. The thing is , Server EU 2 was non collision, and non limited..... and everyone was happy with that... then it got changed ..... and now slowly we are clawing our way BACK to what it was again... The non-freeroamers stayed on EU1, and the rest of us went to EU2. What was the reason for the change? was EU1 at capacity and due to this, EU2 was changed to match the settings of EU1, so it could be use as an over spill server? if so, please create EU3 where non collision and no speed restrictions are set. If it comes down to a funding thing. I would happily put money down to help pay for a third server. There are thousands of drivers , as you are aware, so £/$ 1 from each of them is not a tall order.
  4. Suggestion Name: RSS Feed to Release / Issue Reporting to Players / traffic reports Suggestion Description: One blog post by you - hundreds of VTC websites automatically getting that information Any example images: Why should it be added?:There are many VTC's out there all with their own websites. It would be great if those websites could tie in to an RSS feed from (for example) your Blog, where you can tell people " Hey, when our updates are released, we will post to the blog time line"... this would mean that when it comes to the time that a mod update is ready for release, EVERY VTC that has a website and access to the RSS feed will get that information straight away... Another use for it, is if you have to give out emergency information about issues ( like when Euro Poort had to be blockaded due to the non collision issue ) ... Posting it to a place where RSS can pick it up will save you many headaches, as you get your message out there to the people who are not on your site at the time the information is going out. Another use would be for traffic updates, Current traffic hotspots, or jams.... You could start a new group called traffic watch with a form submission for drivers to use, that then goes out on the RSS feed for others to be made aware off.... Lastly, you hopefully will not get as many people coming to your own forums saying "is the update out yet?" lol Edit : I would also point out that most email clients have RSS readers built into them too, so for those people that are not part of a VTC, they would get an email message when you create a post that is monitored by RSS... Also there are RSS readers for smartphones too... the information can get to a far reaching amount of people. Discuss
  5. I believe the issue is, that the users of the Multiplayer mod have become accustom to the quick turnaround and roll out of updates in the past. What the users are failing to understand, is that the fast turn around is more then likely due to single lines of code being changed. .... however this time, we have a complete model change in the game (Majestic to Merc) So this would mean that anywhere in the multiplayer mod that references the previous truck, would then need to be deleted and new code to represent the new truck would need to go in. Now this in itself is no 5 minute job, as not every Mercedes truck you encounter on the road, will have the same paint job, not every truck will have the same tyres, light fittings, mirriors etc... So every bit of the mod that referenced these points for the Majestic, would need to be found, removed and new code added. Think of it like this... Do you want it done fast and fall apart, or expertly so it works first time? This is why server telemetry patches or, removing of the speed limiter COULD be as simple as changing a line like "SpeedLimiter(67)=Yes" to "Speedlimiter(67)=No" ... One liner changes would of course have a fast turnaround. But changing code that represents models and variants of those models is going to take time... This is a very approximate example of what COULD be going on. So let them do their best... and very soon you will be tearing down the highways once more. (Just think of the down time as your VTC moving to new premises or something..... (for the role players out there))
