After replicating the situation multiple times it is identified that the crash is caused by zooming in the map which occurs when loading in big map combos, in this case it is caused by The Great Steppe add on. In singleplayer it can be fixed by using the zoom crash fix mod mentioned above but however in multiplayer it is not supported so the only temporary solution currently is to remove TGS from the mods folder unless TMP supports that mod or make their own fix in the future.

I have encountered multiple game crashes in Promods, with each crash being logged as a different reason in the game log. I have tried verifying the integrity of the files on Steam but the problem still occurs. Can anyone help me find out what is causing these crashes and how can I fix it?
