  2. @TurklerRS and @Zysto I think you are both missing the point.

Although you both have a valid point about donating directly to the charity by choice, these sound like the words of those who haven't experienced the atmosphere of one of our fantastic charity events. Not saying you haven't attended any, just that you may have missed out on the atmospherics. Raising money together while doing something we all enjoy is something our planners put a lot of hard work into, many of the charity events are planned for months and then run over an extended period of time, usually a minimum of 24 hours; during which I have seen lifelong friendships, and even real life relationships form out of some of our events, you can't argue that's not something special.

This said, I do think there needs to be some changed to the charity events sector of TMP, but i'll address Digital directly rather than post them here.

  3. With the birth of Haulage 64 nearly 4 and a half years ago back in 2015, my aim was to bring the community together and encourage others to produce fantastic events with the goal being to help other people, children, animals etc. through selfless donations and raising awareness of various causes. I'd say the community has done pretty well. Since August 2015, together we have raised £11,704.63 and the years isn't over yet! with CiN2018 from WTL just round the corner, I expect us to finish the year on at least £12,500.

As far as the requirements go, I also had some input into this earlier this year, I think there does need to be some requirements and regulation into how we raise money as it reflects on the community as a whole when you look at the bigger picture. However, I think there becomes a point where regulations and requirement becomes excessive. When it comes to fundraising though, i agree that the method needs to be foolproof, and all donations go direct to the charity intended.

Organising these types of event has become easier over the years, the first step is always the hardest and that's exactly what i took in 2015, but since then I have watched the community grow from 3 Charity events a year in 2015 to 10 in 2018. That's more than I expected. My experiences vary from event to event, I have helped plan and run a number of charity events and each one is different, I have had the pleasure of working with some great people (and some not so great) all with the same goal, and I think its great to see.

I do think that the growth of charity events has also sparked and caused growth in community engagement, and personally, we don't do it for fame, but I don't think we are recognised enough.

If you are interested in where I am getting my statistics from, I have kept track of it all: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1DGmcIQIkbkEUd4P-WtcqInStHMtT41i2s8XcXWK02Bo/edit?usp=sharing

  4.

@DJ Jefferz I'm not backseat moderating at all, i just think its a bit stupid that you're trying to argue your points....... there's a feedback system for a reason :)

I'll say again though, I never read that the survey was, nor was intended to be anonymous

  5. @DJ Jefferz I think the best thing for you to do is quit while you think you're ahead.

You know I conduct the TruckersMP survey towards the end of each year to find out who the communities favorites are, this too goes through a stage of data cleansing to filter out rogue information. It's just how surveys work.

I know you think you mean well, but (and im being honest here) how truckersmp decide to carry out a survey has nothing to do with you since your not on the team anymore. The decision to use verification of the TMP profile means the team can verify that the users who have answered are current users, registered with the community, at no point did I read that this is an anonymous survey.

  6. All this is a bit silly to be honest, I mean fair enough if a serious offence has been committed, then a staff member will be kicked, that's the rules. That said, all breach of policy cases should be looked at individually and not all dealt with in the same way.

Just a few points I personally took from the "Official Statement"

    Quote

it did not take long before we were no longer met with respect, and the situation escalated out of control

If you can't control a disagreement, you shouldn't run a community with 2 million people. Step 1: Establish who the influence in the group is. Step 2: Calm the atmosphere properly, before dealing with the situation.

A simple 2 steps that could have easily avoided all of this.

    Quote

It's important to note that we do not want to be in a situation like this. Having to replace an upper staff member at short notice is never beneficial,

That's obvious, nobody wants to be in this kind of situation, however this quote is certainly not important, nor relevant to the case.

    Quote

we now have to evaluate whether we can still support the Polish community like we have been doing since the start of the mod, or if we will have to lower the level of support to the same as the other language-specific communities.

This one got me, did you intentionally just mention that you are discriminating against other languages in favor of Polish? Or was this just a happy accident that people can and probably will now feed off?

    Quote

    TruckersMP has a major responsibility

You do indeed, and as far as I can see, your responsibility right now is not replacing a community manager, so that shouldn't be your priority.

This is just my interpretation of the statement made. It's no secret that I have long term disagreed with many things that the TruckersMP team do or have done. (just ask clarkinator :P) However, just because I disagree with things, It doesn't mean I was ever disrespectful, this is something that can be completely unforgivable. All this said, respect goes 2 ways, and blocking contact requests from the Polish community is just as disrespectful as the Polish community streaming about the situation.

Also, just gonna put it out there, the VTA have been dealing with fall outs between VTC's and communities for over 1 year with a 100% success rate, so the tips i've given above are valid, and work.

  8. @Gun Powder Good to hear that you will be supporting the event! We can't wait to see you there.

@tattytate Good to hear that you will be returning for a second year and that our choice of charity this year has helped your family. We hope your brother enjoyed his adventure, and we also hope to raise enough money to support more children like him and grant their wishes too!
