Some imaginary story, a travel in time, to complete the whole pic
Sundsvall, 1977
"My Dad's beloved Scania 111 fuel tanker. This picture has a special place in my heart. I remember myself being 10 years old when dad was taking me with him when he had to travel short distances, so i'll start learning his job in order to follow his path into trucking. It was something that i didn't like at first, finding it boring, but over the years and following him at some trips, i started enjoying the whole thing. One day, i took that picture at some station we used to provide fuel, at Sundsvall. Dad liked this picture so much, that had it in the bedroom but also kept a smaller copy of it inside the truck, next to the speedometer. Until my 20, i was following dad. But then he said "time to start your own thing kid”. I moved on and got my license. Then dad heard about some company that was looking for a driver. I went there and grabbed the chance. And guess what. I was a fuel tanker driver, just like my dad! I was driving a Mercedes, but was always talking about dad's Scania. Years later, at 1994, i had offer to work for some international transport company, that i couldn't miss. Such a huge opportunity to step a level above. After discussion with dad and of course his help, i got my own truck, a Scania 144 with 460hp V8 engine. Dad was so glad for me that roles had changed. He was the one coming with me at the trips aboard sometimes! Until he couldn't because of health issues. When at 2008, he passed away. I keep this picture until today, on his 111, just at the spot that he had it always. Right next to the speedometer. Watching at it when i go to start the 111 up, thinkin about all the memories, all the advice that he gave me and how much love he had about this job. I'm so proud i followed his path. And i really hope my kids will do so too..."
"I miss you dad..."
P.S.!!!
The story above is friction. Made by myself, could relate with some real story but it's not.
I hope you enjoyed, have a good night! -

Today's shot is straight from the past, the good old times. The one and only, the legend
SCANIA 143m - 500 \8/

Let's keep in mind, it is 500hp, but this is different power to what today is 500hp, old trucks had raw power, newer 500hp Scanias dont have a chance against 143, filters in exhaust and stuff like that dont let the newer trucks really breath. Huge like! Oh and Iveco Turbostar V8, same story. Two monsters from the past.

THE END OF AN ERA
Some imaginary story to complete the picture,a time travel..
1984, Frederikshavn Port
"It was a hot July morning, like 7AM. Everything was ready. Trailer loaded after many hours of waiting the workers to unload it through the Ferry. I was so happy that i had the luck to be out of the few that got to drive that amazing Scania. The 140, or else, the 40 as we used to call it. I was so stressed as it was my first time as a professional trucker. Started 'er up. That crazy V8 roar idling, gear stick shaking, that turbo whistle when fully spooled...Feelings that i still can't describe. From the first time i knew this truck is gonna make a legend. I was right... After 36 years on duty, with millions of kilometers, hundreds of tons, ready to retire with countless memories, good and bad times. Now the "40" lays into the garage, while my son haulin' with a Scania S series. At the weekends, we start 'er up, making it a quick drive around the 'hood so keep the memories alive and transfer them to the next gen of truckers..."
